A style of beer curiously born on the foggy shores of Father Junipero Serra’s first founding mission. Our own vigorous entry is one rebellious IPA, quick on the trigger, and brimming with a bounty of hop ingenuity. This is a big, bold, brazen beer, a restless vision of a new America.

On tap, backlogged rating. Clear pale gold color with a white ring of head. Mild bitterness in the flavor, with some sweet ripe cherry hanging in there. Clove sticks through before hops bitterness becomes noticeable. Alcohol is definitely there too. Eh, whatever.

Yep, this is your typical over the top IPA but with tdouble the hops and so I guess its on style. Had this on tap at the bocktown in monaca. Thicker aroma of hops, like the acceptable and attractive BO of your favorite mate. Big strong initial flovor onslaught of chewing on grapefruit rinds that have yet to get ripe. On nasty style. Difficult for a lager lover. Big rude strong and again terribly on style. Wew, my taste buds have been ruined for a day. Cannot handle the long bitter over the top hops finish. Yewwww.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2011 Gift from a good friend of mine at Bellmore Beer. The aroma is caramel, earthy hops. The appearaqnce is red, clear, white head. The flavor is caramel, bread, pine, earth. The finish is rsiny, earthy hops. Medium/thick in body, sticky mouthfeel. Not an exceptional IIPA, and not unique, but well crafted. A straight up the middle serviceable IIPA.

draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo. bronze, golden pour, sweet malts seem to dominate a bit here in terms of aroma. Sweet rich malts with almost prominent piney resiny hops in the background. Solid flavor, peanut skins, rich malts, with a good dose of sticky hops, fuller mouthfeel. Good but a bit more hops in there to offset the rich maltiness

Bottle - Solid but no surprises here. Aroma is floral hops, cheese, wet hay. A pleasant enveloping mouthfeel gives way to a a nice malt sweetness balanced by bitterness and a peppery tingle that lingers. Resiny, and citrus are present through out. Good lacing on a glass out of the bottle. pours a clear amber orange.

A very nice rendition of a DIPA. Nice looking amber color. Mild hops. Piney with light malt.

Cloudy golden orange color with no head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, and hops with a thick body. Flavor grapefruit, lemon, pine, and a sharp bitter hop ending. Excellent lacing.

Appearance: Pours a clear, golden-orange body with a tall, off-white head depositing scattershot lace blots on the descent.

Smell: Pale malts with some sweet-scented sugar-encrusted hints to it beneath the resinous hops scented of orange and a bit of lemon.

Taste: Sweetish, sugary elements from the cookie-hinting, pale maltiness. Flutter of apricot fruitiness, then a hearty dose of citrus followed by a bit of resinous pine. Moderate bitterness. Dry, bitter, citrus-accented finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: It’s decent enough, but doesn’t really embody a truly magical, memorable experience. I mean, I did drink it, sure, but hold a bottle in front of me a year from now and I’ll probably say "who??"

tasting on 8/20/11. orange pour with a slim white head. big orange / grapefruit hop nose with lemons. medium body with a big round bitterness with layers of orange and pineapple. semi-dry finish with a sticky bitterness and sweet malts. solid IIPA, heavy on the hop side with just enough malts.
