A style of beer curiously born on the foggy shores of Father Junipero Serraís first founding mission. Our own vigorous entry is one rebellious IPA, quick on the trigger, and brimming with a bounty of hop ingenuity. This is a big, bold, brazen beer, a restless vision of a new America.

A copper orange color with an off-white creamy head. Plenty of pine/citrus hops up front with treacle, sugary malts to balance. Nice feel and body, good hoppy follow. I look forward to this one again on my next visit!

An amber colored brew with honey high lights. There is a slight haze.A smallish white head on top fades to surface layer but is maintained througout the drink. Aroma is a balanced aroma of strong hop bouquet of a floral nature and malts are mostly sweet and pale. An aggressively hopped beer here, overwelmingly hoppy. Poor malts they have an uphill battle on there hands. malts are pale and sweet tasting but are very over matched here. Very bitter tasting into the aftertaste. A very hoppy brew here so much so that the hoppy bitterness overwelms everything it comes into contact with. Not a bad tasting beer here and if your a hop head this beer is for you. This beer is not for me since I like hoppy beers that are more about hop flavor then bitterness.

Bottle. Color reminds me of apricot with a foamy dissipating head and light lacing. Smells really sweet, a little perfumy, a little grapefruity, a little grainy, and a little like chlorinated water, with maybe a hint of pepperiness. Sweet then grainy then bitter. Seems slightly askew- the different aspects of the flavor donít quite blend seamlessly. Hop finish could be a little more robust. Decent.

Heavy, candied, malty aroma coming off a hazy orangish amber body with a thin but persistent off-white head. Before you even taste anything, you notice this is creamy and medium bodied. Then the sweet candied fruit, pineapple and caramel flavors rush over the tongue. This is followed by a noticeable pungent hop bitterness thatís earthy and somewhat fungal (in a good way) and possibly a bit citrusy, but itís hard to tell with everything else thatís going on here. This bitterness stays behind along with some of the sweetness for a well balanced aftertaste. This seems to get more enjoyable as it warms up (or is it just the 9% ABV talking?). Either way this is a unique and enjoyable DIPA.

Pours a clear burnt orange color with aroma of citrus and floral. Taste is hebal and citrus. You can taste the hops in the beer. The aftertaste has a bitter bite to it which lingers after the swallow. A crisp tasting beer that bites you at the end.

25 may 2012, bottle. Light orange, clear, no bubbles. Nose is grapefruit and orange rind. Not too bitter. Thin body, slightly oily and a faintly fizzy. Lemon rind and some orange juice. Malt has a back ground role. Bitter finish but fades fast. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from Casa De Oro. Nose is fairly hopped with some dry grapefruit peel. Hoppy and sweet up front. Some candy sugar taste is noticeable. This brew is decently hopped and pretty darn sweet. A hint of alcohol is noticeable.

Pours a amber orange with a small white head. Aroma is of citrus, pine, tropical fruits, and sweet malts. flavor is similar with a lot of orange flavor, apricot, and some caramel malts. Has a medium-full body with a creamy mouthfeel and a semi dry, bitter, with a artificial chemical bitterness in the finish. overall, a decent DIPA with a finish that needs improvement.

Bottled. Poured clear, light orangey-golden with a creamy off-white head. The aroma picked up more juicy orange and grapefruit than anything else.. warm and welcoming. The flavor found orange meat, honey, and bready notes at the core.. orange, black pepper, and floral bitterness surrounded.. finished warm and peppery. Medium-plus bodied and rather sharp/hot on the palate.. moderate carbonation.. OK feel and flow.. this wasnít bad, but it went downhill after the initial impression.

12 oz bottle from The Beerhive in Pittsburgh. Better than most IPAís but not quite up to the standard of a "double" lacking the hop saturation and coming up weak on body. Pleasant overall and fully appreciative of the 9.25% ABV.
