A style of beer curiously born on the foggy shores of Father Junipero Serra’s first founding mission. Our own vigorous entry is one rebellious IPA, quick on the trigger, and brimming with a bounty of hop ingenuity. This is a big, bold, brazen beer, a restless vision of a new America.

Pours a soft copper amber with two fingers of sticky offwhite head. Nose is very pungent and hoppy with a nice balance of sweet caramelly malt and citrusy hops with notes of mango and orange pulp. Some fusel alcohol and spice with a mild herbal character. Flavor is spicy with a prominent citrus rind bitterness and piny character. Warm alcohol. Favor is not as delicate as the nose. Palate is a bit sharp and warm.

Tap at my house. Pours a hazy deep orange amber with a foamy off white head that left tons of lacing. Aroma of loads of resiny hops, pine, some spicy hop notes, lots of caramel and maybe a hint of cardboard. Flavor of resiny pine notes, candy orange sweetness, caramel and yes some cardboard in the flavor. For a DIPA it’s surprisingly smooth, yet has that grapefruit and pine hop bite. ABV pretty well hidden. Getting some earthy and toffee notes. As I spend more time with this I’m pulling out different aspects and enjoying it more. Might be because I dropped $90 on a sixtel. I’ll def have a chance to really figure out if I enjoy this one or not. Anyone want to try it, stop on over.

Gold pour with a frothy white head. Very mild aroma with caramel and some sweet citrus. The flavor has sweet honey with tiny hints of melon and grapefruit. Very cloying beer with just a mild lingering bitterness on the finish. Sticky, medium body with soft carbonation.

earthy grassy hop aroma with caramellish malts apparent as well.slight hint of fruittiness...looks nice..dark orange clear color with creamy off white head..the taste is where the hops really start to dominate..citrus,piney,resiny spicy and peppery the maltiness appears as it warms very well done.very substantial..that first sip is a hop monster however..pretty thick and creamy for the type as well goes down easy and quickly with a lingering bitter aftertaste..will be buying this one again

On draft at Capones. Pours a clear coppery orange vistalite with a frosty medium sized off white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, pineapple and hops. Taste of fresh pine resin, pineapple, grapefruit and hops. Superb.

My comrades have rated this lower than I and I am not sure why. A nice citrus and pine aroma from an amber pour with a very thin head. Pine a citrus with a malt sweetness in the flavor. Very nice and long lasting after taste. Quite nice.

Amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, caramel malts, overripe fruits, some citrus. Taste of citrus, pine, metal, cardboard, and a bitter finish.

Draft at Capone’s with Dallas and Linh. Pours a clear gold with a slight haze. Aroma is sweet malty hop that lends in giving the beer a smooth mouthfeel inviting flavors of sweet juicy citrus and pine hop.

Tasty malt-forward double IPA. Subtle pine/citrus aroma wafts up from a frothy head perched on a amber colored liquid. Strongly bitter, leaning more toward a massive British beer rather than its California counterparts.
