A style of beer curiously born on the foggy shores of Father Junipero Serra’s first founding mission. Our own vigorous entry is one rebellious IPA, quick on the trigger, and brimming with a bounty of hop ingenuity. This is a big, bold, brazen beer, a restless vision of a new America.

Though it’s pretty with nice head, this beer is not balanced nor is the aroma anything to write home about. Sticky and acrid is the term I would use to describe the flavor. Piney and resinous is the aroma.

Pours a dark orangey brown color with a nice light brown head. Smells of hops and brown sugars. Taste is a bit sweet. Nice bitterness to this beer with some spices mixed in. Good local brew to tyler’s neighborhood that I am glad I picked up.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Shop Rite - Hoboken, 11/15/10

Aroma: The nose has some peach, grapefruit, mango, pine, toffee, and a little bit of earth
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear amber-orange color with a small white head and drips of lace
Flavor: The taste has sweet/ripe fruity notes, some toffee malts, and a nice hop backing
Palate: The body is on the sticky side, and it certainly has that West Coast IIPA feel to it
Overall Impression: I’m always excited to walk into a store and see a new San Diego DIPA, in my opinion the best IPA locale in the country. This one isn’t by any means on the level of the best that city has to offer, but it is a pretty enjoyable beer none-the-less. I just really enjoy that San Diego IIPA feel, and this beer has it. Nice stuff.

Bomber poured a clear orange amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, orange zest, light grapefruit and ligt earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, grapefruit and a hint of pine with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.

Bottle shared at the Coffee District. I would suggest dropping down two reviews and reading Hopscotch’s post. He always explains things better than I do...

Bomber. Nose is very sweet orange toffee and caramel. Flavor is the same, with some cereal, mango, oak, toasted nut, and grapefruit. Medium body is smooth and sweetish.

Bottle… Hazy orange ale with a small, fat-bubbled, white head. The nose offers honey and toffee malts framed by earthy, woody, resiny hops. Full-bodied with prickly carbonation. The flavor is a crescendo of measured, sweet, sugary malts up front followed by a blast of harshly bitter hops on the backside. Coarse, bitter, dry finish.

Thin head of varying sized bubbles. Rather strong spruce hops aroma with some caramel malts, roasted grains, tea leaves and some bread. Color is a cloudy dark copper. Rather smooth palate with a bunch of sweet malts with offset nicely the pronounced piney hops. More caramel, some spice and lingering bitterness. Noticable alcohol presence but not overpowering. Finishes sweet with a little bit of grapefruit. I like this IIPA quite a bit. Balanced pretty damn well.

Bomber. Pours a dark orange-copper body with a large short-lived head that leaves some thick lacing. Aroma is sweet orange, pine, and caramel. Taste is heavily sweet and bitter, with the sweetness winning out. Flavor is pine, orange, grapefruit and a fair bit of spiciness. Lots of caramel sweetness that takes over as you drink. Alcohol isn’t prominent. A nice, solid but fairly sweet DIPA.
