A style of beer curiously born on the foggy shores of Father Junipero Serraís first founding mission. Our own vigorous entry is one rebellious IPA, quick on the trigger, and brimming with a bounty of hop ingenuity. This is a big, bold, brazen beer, a restless vision of a new America.

Aroma of malt with a trace of hops. Bronze colour, no head and a taste of malt with a slightly sour palate of malt.

bottle - Pours clear orange with a small, lingering head. It has a hop led aroma with citrus and resin. The flavor is resinous and very bitter. Itís full bodied and very good, though not great for a style that I love. Worth a try.

Great label and nice brewed but nothing special on it. Nice features and thickness it has.

Smells a bit malty for an ipa, also citrus and sweetness. At first sip is bitter and hoppy, with citrus notes. Heavier body, kinda oily but I think is from the sugars. Pretty delicious balanced double ipa.

Aromas of sugary, sticky malts, bready yeast, and apricot. Clear orange-bronze with a mostly lasting, sticky white head. A little sweet on the attack, cleans up quickly as the hop bitterness comes in, some flavors of stone fruit and warm caramel, and alcohol. Medium bodied, sticky, finishes with thick malts leading towards balancing bitterness, and slight heat. Quite west coast in the way of hops, with a very structured malt profile.

Wow. Beautiful, balanced aromas with a frothy head. A gorgeous amber color. The taste is smooth, yet grainy and hoppy enough for you to enjoy the spice, but just enough for a kick. And this goes throughout the entire palate with a lasting finish. Drink this beer.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark copper body under a one finger tight bubbled off-white head. The nose isnít especially screaming Double IPA to me, the hops just arenít there. Thereís a much more prominent malty aroma. What hops are there, are piney and resiny over the sweet caramel malt base. The flavor is much more Barleywine like than DIPA. The malt drives the flavor with its heavy sweetness, while the hops are more in the background. Thereís plenty of bitterness, but not much flavor from them. Medium to full bodied with a slightly chewy and sticky body, soft gentle carbonation. This just isnít what I want from a DIPA.

32 oz can, shared by bill after his trip out west. Pours hazy pumpkin with medium off white head. Aroma and flavor are sweet malt, pineapple, pine and other bitter hop notes. Medium bodied. Not too bad.

Poured amber with a light white head, the aroma is citrus, hoppy and some some sweetness, taste is sweet up front, then bitter, citrus and lingering bitterness, carbonation is middling, and you feel the alcohol for sure on the back end
