A style of beer curiously born on the foggy shores of Father Junipero Serra’s first founding mission. Our own vigorous entry is one rebellious IPA, quick on the trigger, and brimming with a bounty of hop ingenuity. This is a big, bold, brazen beer, a restless vision of a new America.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2012 Man this thing great. Really handcrafted taste here. A soft mellow honey flavor to balance out the beautiful bouquet of hops. Wow wow wow. One of the best. Really it’s almost a barleywine. Barley wine sweetness. This is a badass beer man.

Great flavor one of my favorite beers. A double IPA that does not taste overly hoppy.

Aroma: At first, there’s a small funky smell, then you get a sweet, hoppy smell. Appearance: Pretty honey color, cloudy. Poured into a Dogfish Head Signature Glass. Small frothy cream colored head. Taste: bitter, sweet, fruity, malt, warm spices. Palate: starts bitter, then fruity, then leaves behind the bitter. Overall: This beer is worth picking up! You will not regret it, it’s really good.

Excellent, up there with all the so cal best: sculpin, whipeout, green flash west coast ipa, ect. (i know, im comparing double ipa to ipa, so what).. Southern cali brewers must buy their hops at dispensaries!!! Thats the secret!! ipas from the san diego area are by far the best. I know, what about DFH? .........S.D. Ipas are better, im sorry. And furthermore..........these same people that are rating this beer between 2-3 will be the same ones that will return a year from now and rate it a 4-5, I assure you!

Bottle from Slowbeer. Great taste, in the malty side. Aromas of liquorice, cherry, and caramel. Taste is sweet and bitter, very long length. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.

Wow. Beautiful, balanced aromas with a frothy head. A gorgeous amber color. The taste is smooth, yet grainy and hoppy enough for you to enjoy the spice, but just enough for a kick. And this goes throughout the entire palate with a lasting finish. Drink this beer.

The aroma is probably the least impressive part of this beer as the hops aren’t as present as everywhere else in the beer. A very tasty floral/bitter flavor and a great finish . Excellent.

Deep muddy amber. Aroma is perfume of floral hops. Terrific full body palate. I was expecting an overpowering hop Ipa, but this brew is very well balanced. Slight sweetness in the initial sip of honey. The high abv is almost completely unnoticeable. I was a little hesitant to buy it at the market for $3.5 per bottle, but this brew delivers. Excellent IPA!

Hazy orange with thick white head. Mild dank smell with lots of citrus rind smell. Taste is citrus rind and dank. Heavy on the citrus. Great beer.

On draft at Capones. Pours a clear coppery orange vistalite with a frosty medium sized off white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, pineapple and hops. Taste of fresh pine resin, pineapple, grapefruit and hops. Superb.
