Bomber. Pours a somewhat cloudy mahogany color with a small white head. A big fruity malty nose. The flavor is caramel, figs, smoke, some big brown malt, earthy, more dark fruit. Light heat. Quite nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared 2013 bomber, poured to snifters with a hazed, brown tone, tan head foam, and light spots & streaks of lacing. The nose was some roastiness, maltiness, caramel, dark fruit as prune, and light, brown sugar sweetness. Medium bodied, the taste presented similar notes as the aroma, with an added touch of molasses. Would have hoped for more liveliness to the effervesence to perk up the body, flavor notes, and texture a bit.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
2012 Vintage. Pours a muddy brown with a small but thick tan head. Carbo is silky smooth and has obviously dropped off a bit. Pleasant, light oxidation adds a richness to an already decadent beer. The stout and barleywine characters mingle really well. At around $3 this beer is one of the most ridiculously good buys out there.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle @ Greg’s house picked up in the Midwest. Pours a brown appearance with a light brown head. Caramel, honey, toasty malty, a touch nutty, earthy, somewhat sweet aroma. Mild chocolate, toasted caramel, light candy, herbal hoppy flavor. Pretty high carbonation but not too bad.
