3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Shooter42 (73) - California, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Good brown ale that is priced at a bargain. Taste and aroma is a little light and mouthfeel is a little thin but overall better then the Anniversary ale and worth buying again for the price.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 nearbeer (3048) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 5, 2013
650 ml. Clear, deep chestnut with a lasting covering of cream. Nose of toffee, citrus zest, resin, light coffee and oak. Taste is a great blend of the same plus some toasted walnut. Light-medium body is soft, has medium carbonation and is well balanced by a roasty, lightly hopped finish. Excellent brown.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 5000 (4967) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - APR 28, 2013
Bottle:   Deep ruby with brownish highlights, moderate to large frothy sandy head, fairly nice lacing.
Subtle toasted malts, a little honey comb cereal aromas.   Similar on the tongue, yet stronger malts, more honey comb
like cereal, and soft salty caramel.   Moderate to full bodied, seems to coat well yet not be too sticky.   The
honeycomb cereal lingers, but luckily its not overbearing.   Pretty solid Brown Ale.

Pours reddish-brown with a nice frothy white head.
Aroma is malty, slightly nutty.
Flavor is a balance of malty sweetness and gentle hoppy bitterness.
A little thin on palate.
This is a good beer in any case, but for $2 at Trader Joe’s, this is a remarkably good beer.

Enjoyed this is a large format bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a medium to light shade of brown with a thin tan fizz on top. Bristly carbonation on the tongue at first, but finishes wet with a nice blend of barley and malt.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ughsmash (6668) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 29, 2013
Bomber. Poured clear, light-medium reddish-brown with a nice cap of smoked tan head. The aroma picked up toasted nutty and earthy notes with a bit of vanilla around.. simple and on the sweet side, but well-received. The flavor found mostly nutty malts at the core, with a bit of vanilla and cocoa laced throughout.. fresh, light, complementary, nondescript bitterness around.. sweet, slightly tangy finish.. tasty. Light-medium bodied and sweet on the palate, but with enough acidity to cut through nicely.. smooth, rolling carbonation.. very drinkable and enjoyable brew.
