3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bomber poured into a shaker. In a trade from TheBeerSommelier, thanks Matt! Pours a lightly cloudy dark gold with a thin bit of white head. Light aroma of banana and clove. Taste is lightly sweet. Heavily banana and a good bit of clove. Lots of yeast activity going on here. Medium-full bodied with a thick and creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, pretty good. I would gladly drink this one outside on a hot summer day.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance was cloudy orange golden with whiteish 1 finger rocky lasting head, spotty lacing. Aromas where fruits like bananas, orange, bubblegum with some lemons and spices, some wheat. Taste was sweet malt with acidic lemons and bananas, wheat and yeasty bread. Palate was crispy smooth and light carbonation. Citrusy medium body with average length slight tarty finish. Tarty Hefe thats refreshing light and cheap...

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This poured a hazy straw body with a towering rocky head and left loads of lace on the glass. The aroma was fresh bananas, a light touch of clove, and a squirt of lemon. The flavor was bready, lots of bananas, a bit of bubblegum, a dash of glove, and a light lemony tartness. Considering the low price ($2.99 for a bomber), this may be my go-to brew this summer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted from bottle into nucleated pint glass. Poured a predictable hazy orange color with fluffy off-white head, some lace. As with most Mission Street offerings, it was true-to-style but somehow muted and weak compared to classic examples. Yeasty, bready, citrusy, crisp and refreshing. More complex esters/phenols than most unfiltered American wheat beers, but less complex than authentic German Hefeweizens. That said, it was very enjoyable, which ought to be the most important thing, right?

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The aroma is rather watery and not that right for the style. It does have some matiness and banana but not much. The appearance is hazy gold with a small head. The taste is like the aroma but has some spice and fruit. The palate is thin but right for this style. Overall it’s not bad but not a great example of the best hef.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Purchased at Trader Joe’s in Chicago, IL; enjoyed on a night after mailing my taxes, which resulted in me standing behind an 11 fingered man who was shipping two massive boxes of what he referred to as "snake food". Appearance is a bright, cloudy gold with a rich white head that laces to the glass. Aroma of banana, clove, smells like a standard hefe, which smells pretty damn good! Taste is nice and easy drinking, light hay / wheat notes, not too bitter, retains the banana/clove elements just in a lighter variety. This is a great one considering the price point of about $3.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Trader Joe’s in Eastlake: Created a decent layer of frothy head while the liquid was a glowing yellow with slight haze. In the aroma, the most obvious scent is the smell of yeast, but I’m not exactly sure if I would go as far as to say it’s authentic to a pure German strain. However, this does surprise me with the little hint it does suggest of banana and clove seeing as Mission brewing has never impressed me. The flavor is simple with only a minor tasting of spice perhaps clove and almost no sign of banana, but this is an okay hefeweizen for the price and it sure beats some of this companies other subpar beers.
