2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Not the best, couldn't tell if the one I had wasn't fresh or something. I tried turning the bottle over and letting the yeast float to the top. No dice. Wasn't very bold or refreshing in flavor

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I didn’t realize these Mission St. beers were made by Firestone Walker - had I known, I probably would have avoided the Boatswain beers from Trader Joes I’ve been trying over the last couple of months - this is a nice example of the style - soft texture - a refreshing tartness that offsets the sweeter notes of the malt - understated, but present notes of clove, white pepper, finishing with mild esters - very good brew, especially at the price point.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to Dad. I was completely caught off guard. Some of the TJ stuff if not great and some just OK but this was a pretty damn good example of the style. Serving: Bottle

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear golden color with a frothy white head. Wheat, yeast, clove and bubblegum aroma and flavors. Light body and moderate carbonation. Yeast and bubblegum finish. A little bland but not bad.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Amber golden color with a white head. Hints of citrus zest, buttery through the body and a mild hops in the finish. Not a standout.

"i don’t know what award it’s winning...county fair? this is an ok hefe. nothing at all wrong with it, especially for the price, but it’s just above average at best. all the aspects you expect in a hefe, just lighter."

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. I would never have guess this a hefeweizen, from the all-American lager-y look, to the heavily biscuity base. There’s the merest of fruity finishes, but none of the classically yeasty, funky aspects I’d have expected. Otherwise, no technical fault, easy enough to drink. (#5747, 9/21/2014)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Another trader joe's tick. Pours hazy golden amber, small off white head. Gum, banana, clove. Fits the bill for dirt cheap.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz. bomber from Trader Joe’s. Aroma is slight, some wheat, lemon, and banana detectable but no spice. Cloudy gold/orange pour with a billowing, fluffy, white head that leaves lacing. Highly carbonated with big bubbles. Has a very mainstream flavor, nothing to really distinguish it from a generic hefeweizen. Light bodied, slick texture, lively carbonation, abrupt finish. A good deal for $1.99 a bottle, but nothing to get excited about.
