2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
This beer smells good. Based on smell alone I was all expecting a nice treat considering the price of this beer. Unfortunately fresh woodsy smell doesn’t translate to the flavor. It has an oily thin lacing and pours a light amber color that i would expect more from a pale ale. The taste is muddled. The hops are present, but they remind me of the hop pellets i used to use when home brewing. The mouthfeel is yeasty and gross. I won’t be buying this one in the future.

Pours amber with a white head. Hop, floral, caramel, fruit and malt aroma and flavors. Medium body and carbonation with a light floral hop and caramel finish. Pretty standard.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
6th November 2014
Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light and minerally crisp. Very light and sweetish malt. A lovely floralness that carries mild violets and a touch of candy fruits. Hops are medium orange and orange pith with lesser grapefruit and pine. Smooth finish. Noble hop like spicy linger. Lovely, lots going on and super drinkable.

12oz bottle -
For some reason when I shop at TJ’s, the IPA is always out. This time, for $5.99 a six-pack and it’s on the shelf..yeah....a no-brainer. To the beer starts out with a nice sniff of hops. Nothing really specific or that I could zero in on, just hops. It’s rather odd that nothing really stands out, but it’s like smelling a bag of hops just taken out of the cooler. Flavor has medium bitterness to it, with a very light (thank you) crystal malt profile. The guys at Firestone let the hops be the star, and the beer is better because of it. The malts are there, make no mistake and it’s a bready-like sweetness to it. Mouthfeel is nice, evenly balanced. Nothing to get worked-up over, but a solidly built beer, easy to enjoy on a warm March afternoon and the price is oh-so right.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at Andrew’s today, 11.05.2014. Clean IPA, medium-low hop bitterness, almost no aftertaste - easy drinker and cheap as hell apparently. Definitely wouldn’t mind another. Didn’t get a good look, no glass.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz can. (Trader Joe’s) Greenville, SC.
Clear amber golden colour with a small frothy white head.
Fruity and sweet hops, mild bitterness and some maltiness in the aroma.
The flavour is some bitterness, fruitiness and some floral hops. Quite drinkable. A bit boring.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
355ml bottle. Amber appearance nice head and nice lacing. SMell is sweet with fruit resinous hops. Flavor has a sweet icing like component to it, infact a very sweet ipa. Not sure on the dating of this but it doens’t grip me.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
You can’t get more down the middle than this Ipa--but you won’t see me complaining about that. This is a bright orange beer. It’s had is long lasting and foamy with lots of patchy lace. There is big citrus and pine in the nose asking with a bit of tropical fruit. This is full bodied and a little bit sweet which highlights the fruity notes from the hops as well as a touch of lavender. There is a touch of toasty malt character witch comes out in the long resinous finish. I could drink this all day, well done beer.

"the best of the mission st beers. definitely not a standout in a talented ipa field, but a nice budget pick. floral and spicy hops with a firm malt backbone. for a buck, can’t go wrong here at Trader Joes."

Poured a caramel, honey, orange semi-hazy color with two fingers of off-white head. Below average spots of wet foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Below average retention on the top of the glass. (Sight - 3.82)
Smelled citrus hops, tropical hops, melon, resin, wet hops, earthy, rye notes, soapiness, lime and caramel. (Smell - 3.60)
Tasted pretty close to the smell. Got citrus hops, grapefruit rind, floral hops, earthy rye notes, soapiness, lime, pine, slight resin and caramel. (Taste - 3.71)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, citrusy finish. Pretty good feel. (Feel - 3.89)
A decent IPA and a great beer for the value ($5.99). I’d have this again, but I do prefer their pale ale. (Overall - 3.75)
