COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dating back to 18th century England, the custom of blending pale and dark beers has kept the "Black & Tan" a favorite of experienced beer drinkers for centuries. Our famous recipe combines a robust English Porter with a fine Continental Pilsner, preserving the character of each, while creating the classic taste of the legendary "Black & Tan." In true American style, we bring you the best of both beers as they meet in Mississippi Mud.

I like this beer. A fun, drinkable beer that gives a heavier flavor without sacrificing refreshment. Moderate head, pretty ruby-colored. Bit of smoke with a crisp finish. I like the jug with cap as I can pour myself a glass at a time as needed. Interesting stuff.

Has an okay barley aroma, and a boring amber body with no head - but an extra point in the appearance department for the fancy jug bottle. Flavour is a simple mix of nuttiness and caramel, with an averagely watery palate. Dry finish, however. It’s a decent afternoon session beer, the whole quart will disappear purty quick and then you’ll be looking for something a little more challenging.

32 ounce jug. Pours a reddish-brown with a three inch light tan head that slowly fades. Taste is of roasted malt, smoke, caramel, chocolate, fruit, pine, hops and some resin. Cleaner aroma, that is similar. Has a lighter, creamy body. An interesting beer that is full of flavor and drinkable. Also, kudos on the cool bottle!

Black pour with a khaki head. The nose is pretty bland and watery. Some roasted malt notes, slight sourness, grain sweetness, and maybe a hint of coffee. The flavor is like sour, watered down coffee. Roasted malt, grainy sweetness, and maybe a slightly metallic finish.

Thanks to my bro-in-law again. Pours a dark reddish brown. Aroma of smoked syrup and nuts. Taste is malty and smoked with a lightly sweet finish. Kinda plain. Prob wouldn't buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Neat bottle. Poured a very dark clear mahogany with dissipating head. Big caramel malt aroma, slight toffee, nut, molasses. Medium light sweetness, slight bitterness. Light carbonation. Slight musky taste with caramel malt notes. Ok.

Very underwhelming. Pours a clear iced tea colour. Some nutty aromas and flavours. Watery. One and done.
