Deep brown pour with a small white head. Aroma is light caramel and roasted malts with pale grains, corn and root beer. Better roasted and dark malt graininess with very light bitterness and a quick crisp ending. NOt as terrible as some.

Poured a beautiful color brown. Wonderful aroma of malt and beer. Amazing sweet malty taste. Actually, this beer is not very good. Hard to get through the 1st glass.

Bland. This beer is not very good. There’s no carbonation. It has a cool bottle though.

Big ol’ bottle. Pours a clear brown color with a small-to-moderate head on it. There is a slight bit of roasting in the nose of this, but the smell is almost nonexistent. Taste is slightly roasty, but also has a bit of corn to it. Really tastes like mixing two pretty bad beers. Doesn’t work.

Really not a big fan. Either I don’t like Black and tans or this one just plain sucks. It’s certainly drinkable, but the thin body on a beer that should be thicker and sweeter is tough for me to swallow.... literally. There’s also a cigarette quality.... not a good thing

32 oz jug from early backlog notes. Pours a clear amber brown color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have lightly roasted malts, mild chocolate, some earthy notes, pretty thin for a porter, flavors are very mild. I will not revisit this.

Reviewed from notes.
From out of this mini-growler, this beer shows a dark hazy brown to black sort of color with a minimally white foamy head that ends up leaving a slight trickling lacing that slides right on into the body.
The smell, well, there’s the German malts, somewhat Pilsener like but still letting the roasty sort of quality running about it, but its mainly just roasty and doesn’t really show anything else.
The taste was basically just roasty and sweet and had a weird bland dry aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, it sat between a light to medium and had a decent sessionability running about it. Carbonation seemed okay, but nothing over the top.
Overall, not a bad black & tan, but also not a really pre-made version of one.

Schönes Bier. Röstige Kaffenoten, schöne cola-ähnliche Farbe. Fruchtig-maözig am Gaumen, weich.

I had most of the 946ml bottle at a barbecue in Newport Beach on 14th March 2014. Strange blend really, like a watered down Porter. Thin and dark in looks and texture, some roasted maltiness in both the nose and taste but not a beer I’d rush off and buy. Different but not really interesting. More like Mississippi Overflow than Mud.

Container made me see it, name made me purchase. Good beer, nothing too great and not for the price.
