A beer created in collaboration with Latvian rock band Prāta vētra, based on the old recipe from Jānis Jubalts’ father’s recipe book. Together with a classic hops and malt scent, the velvety, mild taste and distinct caramel aroma of Mītavas beer gives this variety a characteristic and unique scent combination.

Pale golden pour. The aroma is fairly sweet and malty. Full malt flavour with a little bit of light hoppiness. Herbal with a little bit of soft pepper. There is a little bit of light fruit as well as a hint of crackers. Pretty tasty stuff while I’m listening to a band sing folk songs in a language I can’t understand.

Really nice PL, with a velvety mouthfeel, living taste, darkly attractive appearance, balanced taste for the category for sure!!!

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2014 Bottle. Clear. Medium white head. Good carbonation. Sweet aroma - reminds me of apples. Taste is very ’yeasty’ and fruity. Definitely a unique taste (in a good way). In large quantities might be a bit too acidic. Overall a really good beer for its price tag.

Medium deep offwhite head. Clear amber body with carbonation. Strawy earthy aroma with wet cardboard notes. Dry-sweet, and faintly acidic, strawy earthy lemony taste with wet cardboard notes. Mid-bodied. Soft, mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish fruity earthy aftertaste with papery notes. It’s quite nice, but should have had it earlier. BBD 2013-06-27. (0.5l bottle, from Stockmann, Riga.)

From the archives. Fresh, malty pale lager. I always thought that it is helles. Good when warm and perfect when below 8degC. Do not miss it.

Very malty-watery taste, hints of fruits, weird, sticky aftertaste.. Drinkable when cold, but not if it becomes warmer - then it’s salty bitter - not in the good way.. For cheap, taste Latvian pale lager, not so bad (when cold).

Bottle 0,5L: Thanx to Knut Albert!!! Clear red colour, with a nice creamy head. Aroma of grainy, hay and lots of malts, and fruity. Flavor is watery (werry thin) that was a bit disepoiting, for the aroma was so nice. Smouth mouth feeling and a short bitter finish.
