Commercial Description: Mitchell's has two locations that are nowadays unrelated and they taste differently. The bottles look identical, but the label states if it's brewed in Cape Town or Knysna. The beers from the brewery in Knysna is ony distributed to the Garden Route (from Mossel Bay to Port Elizabeth), and to a few places inland from there. The Cape Town brewery supplies the rest of South Africa.
Draught at the brewery. Pitch black. Roasty with plenty of coffee. Medium bodied with soft mouthfeel and a long, bitter finish containing some licorice. A well balanced, very enjoyable stout.
