Bottle from a bottle shop in Germany. Light smell, some fruits, slight artificial. Similar taste. Tastes like an industrial lager.

Pours pale yellow with a decent head. Malty aroma with some spiciness. Taste is smooth and malty with moderate flavour of hops. A light but refreshing brew. (0,5l bottle, bb17.11.2016)

Draft at Schatten. Crystal clear golden color, white ice cream cone head. Aroma of papery white pepper. Taste is lightly bitter lemony straw. One of our least favorites helles beers of the trip.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe: poured (three times) into an old stemmed Pilsner glass that I like to use for tastings. 9th Jan 2016 and I am having a four beer Bavarian tasting session with myself and no one else. I know ’hell’ is ’light’ in German but this is uber hell, very light indeed. Slight grain aroma and taste with a hop bitterness later in the mouth. Do not pretend this has flavour and depth. It is refreshing and clean tasting but has no real beer like taste or character. A sunshine beer, not a cold, wet winters night one: scored objectively and kindly.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2016 Tasted skunked in the classic cheap larger style. Can imagine it being decent fresh from the tap though. It has a sweetness to it, but too many skunk bready notes coming through. It has a distinctive taste Macro larger. Think Bitburger with added sweetness and a touch more complexity. Its nothing special, not even close to being. But its passable.

Pale yellow lager with a small frothy head that last throughout the drink. Sweet tasting with a slight hoppy aftertaste

Bottle. Thin yellow lager whose salty skunky taste has more in common with the macro lagers from far flung territories than the brewing tradition of Bavaria.

Hell, gelb, durchsichtig. In der Nase leicht pilsig, etwas Malz und metallische Noten. Am Gaumen typisch helles, allerdings sehr schwach, Etwas Honig. Im Sommer sicher trinkbar, gibt aber weitaus bessere Alternativen.

Bottle. Bier Huis, Ossett. Out of date in 4 hours time! Pale gold. Persistent, sticky film of white head. Mineral, and soft, green hop on the nose. Lightly spicy, sweet, bready malts. Taste is yeasty dry. Some green hop bitterness. Palate is a little oily. Finishes a bit sickly sweet.
