Tap @ Brewpup.
This has amazing visual character with a rich black color and a big creamy head. The flavor has heavy coffee overtones but is smooth with mild bitterness.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Sham (1846) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 26, 2006
Black with lighter edges. No head or lace. Chocolate and roast aromas with some bitter coffee notes. Chocolate and bitter in the flavor. Again a touch of roast coffee. Thick mouthfeel with a cocoa finish.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BückDich (5467) - McCall, Idaho, USA - MAY 11, 2006
Tap @ Brewpub in Lewiston, ID<BR>Black, light lacing, tan head. Nose of clean roast, lots of chocolate and coffee. The flavor is creamy, a bit too sharp of astringency and finishes tart. Nice full bodied stout.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jake65 (2166) - Williston, North Dakota, USA - FEB 20, 2006
Dark brownish, near black pour with an amazingly creamy head. Aroma aplenty and it is full of coffe tones ( I couldn’t taste much else ). Medium in dryness, a very versatile stout overall.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 drismyhero (815) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - JAN 4, 2003
Very dry and full of coffee goodness. The first time I had a pint of this was with an enormous seafood buffet the restaurant associated with MJ’s has; that seemed to taste a lot better: rounder and more flavorful, but it isn’t unheard of for a dinner like seafood to affect your beverage...for the better even.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Murphy (1759) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - DEC 27, 2002
This beer pours with a huge grey head that must be slurped away. Tastes very creamy as it enters the mouth and finishs with hop presence. Coffee flavors dominate the palate. Not too dry although listed as a dry stout. A beefed up Murphy’s.
