This recipe was created by our Brewer Kurt. Along with 400 pounds of pumpkin and 300 sweet potato he used a variety of specialty malts to keep your taste buds on an adventurous ride with each sip. You’ll find the roasty flavors are well balanced with pumpkin which gives it a very smooth character. Kurt also added pumpkin spice to this Porter to give it that amazing aroma and finish.

Nice dark coal pour with very light low head. The nose is a holiday treat, with pumpkin pie, caramel, sticky toffee pudding, cinnamon. Vegetal malts as well. Pretty light body with an average simple palate. Has a very light tang. Taste is a tangy vegetal malt. The pumpkin and cinnamon is light win very weak caramel notes. Nice enough. 3.6

Tap, pours a dark brown with a tan head; sweet spicy aroma of pumpkin pie spices with hints of chocolate, sweet potatoes, and malt; taste was mostly sweet with roasted malts, sweet potato, and pumpkin with some spices; has a mild hop finish; not bad

Bottle - Pours rosy dark cola with a thin tan head. Nose is milky, with a bit of sweet potato, a bit of whipped cream, cinnamon, cocoa, and medium roast dark malt. Nice medium dark roast porter, with a bit of cocoa, sweet potato, milk, whipped cream, and a touch of pumpkin spice. Medium body, smooth with ample carbonation. Real pleasant and well-balanced. Good stuff.

Pours dark brown with a thick tan head...nice retention and lacing. Aroma has light chocolate...like a tootsie roll...noticeable sweet taters and very mild pumpkin. Flavor has some roasty and earthy notes...dark chocolate is very present...pumpkin is very faint and I may not have picked it out if I didnt know it was there. Mouthfeel is a bit thin for a porter...finish is roasty and lingering Into mild sweet potato.

Pours a deep brown with a medium, foamy beige head. The aroma has cinnamon and nutmeg dominating, along with pumpkin, sweet potatoes and some mild vanilla. Taste is similar to what I was expecting from the nose. Its very well balanced, with perhaps the cinnamon, nutmeg and pumpkin standing out the most. The sweet potato impressions come out more at the end. Very short aftertaste of pumpkin and sweet potato. Thin in body, with a creamy texture, and soft sudsy carbonation. This one accomplishes what it advertises. Its alright, but not terribly exciting.

Bottle:   Deep brown, large frothy beige head, spotty lacing.   With this much head it seems almost like its infected.   Spicy nose, definite sweet potato or yam.   Pumpkin spices seem secondary.   Sweet roasty start, slight lactose, a bit of yam, soft cinnamon and nutmeg.   Slight tartness to it.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   A little airy on the tongue, otherwise moderate body and mouthfeel.   Finishes with yams, ginger, roasted malts, a little campfire, soft cinnamon/nutmeg, and a little lactose.   I should have drank this earlier, but as is its different and fairly tasty.
