As a fellow Tulsan quite familiar with the Hansons, I had mixed feelings about this one long before it ever landed on shelves. Itís likely among the strongest brewed by Mustang and one of the strongest pales Iíve had. I was quite pleased with the initial tastes, but itís the finish that ruins this from being a star. They need to tweak the finish before too many taste this and cross it off their lists. Itís not ready. Go back and rework the recipe and smooth out that awful end.

Keg @ GABF 2013. Pours a medium straw, with a white head. Malty, grainy, aroma, oxidized hops. Dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2. Malty, grainy, stale taste, cardboard, old hops. Poor. (2013-10-10)

Pours a golden amber, and very clear. Two fingers of foamy off white head. Aroma is pine and sweet malt. Not overly hoppy. Very sweet and malty in flavor. A bit too much. Also has a metallic flavor in there. Medium bodied. Finishes sweet.

Rosy orange pour with some whiteish head. Aroma is light and more malty than hoppy. Flavor is mildly grassy backed with malty sweetness. Not too shabby.

Bottle thanks to soonerchamps. I really just wanted this for the bottle but letís see how it is. Pours a hazy amber color with a small fizzy head that lingers nicely and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is funky, stale citrus and floral hops mixed with sweet bread malt and an odd fruitiness. Taste has a honey sweetness to mix with dry, bitter citrus/floral hops and fruity bread malt. Not a very good beer. Barely drinkable.

Pours very clear gold. Medium to light carbonation. Smells earthy. The taste is not great, not horrible. It is ok, earthy, uninteresting... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clearish orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma of honey and old hops. Tastes like butterscotch candies. Pouring down the drain now.

Pours dark amber, low head. Low sweet aroma. Taste is a light sharp hop bite followed by sweet, not a good pale

Bottle at Tony/Jim BA Birthday Extravaganza 2013 (Western Springs, IL). Pours a nice dulled amber hue, some gentle golden orange glow on the edges. Frothy tannish head atop stays as a nice frothy layer, laces ok. Aromas are a bit funky, dry, and earthy. Some gentle bready malt, some toast and biscuit. Firmer dry earthy and a bit funky. Initial is a bit toasty, bready and mellow staleness. Earthy dry hops, some gentle spice and toast. Mellow dryness and touches of body, some gentle grass and earth, touches of deadened florals. A touch sweeter. Backend is a touch dry, biscuity and gentle earth. Some dryness. Solid, drinkable, a touch stale. Ok. Looked nice. Kinda shocked the ABV is so high.

swanmann (604) - Norman, Oklahoma, USA - NOV 19, 2013
Poured into a tulip glass: itís clear amber orange with an inch of off white fairly well-sustained foam, which settles with no lace. Slight aromas of caramel and pine. The flavor is some caramel and biscuity, toasty bitterness, but not much for fresh hops. The alcohol is well hidden but the advertised hop character is pretty lost. Itís doesnít taste bad, just underwhelming.
