UPDATED: JAN 18, 2014 Malt forward - not an APA - hops missing in action - not that pleasant either. Next...!

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle from a random bottle shop on the way to Freo. Guessing this is pretty old now as all I can taste is toffee apple. It has a hint of grassiness but it just doesn’t taste remotely fresh

2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Having tried some other brews form MOA, expected more... Maltiness dominates for the aroma and it seems to affect tasting buds too. Appearance is fantastic with its very foamy clean white head and cloudy brownish body. However this is quite uncharacteristic beer except a punch of maltiness from the first sip.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle into schooner glass. floral, golden, cloudy, white foam, very bitter. Hoppy and bitter, very cloudy in the glass. Nice lacing, some effort has gone into making this beer. Very nice. Inexplicably endorsed by Shane Warne, a man who probably thinks Crown Lager is the height of sophistication.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pale in colour head dissipated very quickly, fruity, passionfruit aroma, earthy hops flavour along with passionfruit and left with a mild bitter aftertaste, mild carbonation, a very good pale ale, not the usual promotional ale’s available

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Better than expected, light pine aroma, amber colour, ok head, quite bitter finish and aftertaste. Probably rated so low because of Shane Warne association but actually not too bad.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours a hazzy orange with minimal head. Aroma is slight orange which continues into the flavour. Flavour feels metallic and dull. Nice. Otherness on the back palate lingers but over all not a nice crisp tasty refreshing beverage you would want to walk you up while trying to watch cricket. Little below average.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
What the hell? Thought Warney was a Melbourne lad, but a beer after him from New Zealand, what the f*&k?
Sunny gold with relatively good clarity. Head is soppy, soapy and foams for just long enough to earn the right to be called a head. Aroma dominated by burnt toast, stale, dried green herbs, spicy, plastic phenols and twiggy bark - not good! Phenolic, smoky, burnt toast and clappy, plastic notes dominate the palate. Quite thin and yet creamy on the tongue with a weedy backdrop and linger. Malt is there and has ample flavour but is overshadowed by the nasties going on. This is not good at all. Its pale ale, not rocket science!!! (33cL, BB 01/11/15, Dan Murphy’s, Cannington)

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not much aroma - a little citrus and pine. Taste is also fairly unremarkable but there are some very light grapefruit and multigrain bread notes. Sessionable doesn’t have to mean lacking flavour.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle from Dan Murphy’s January 2014. Really Shane Warne????. Beer is about as good as the person - pale pasty and full of gas.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle. Pours a hazy pale amber colour with a large dense white head (looks tremendous) which lasted the distance. Very malty aroma with some grass and tropical fruit. Initial sweetness gives way to a dry lingering bitter finish. Light to medium body. Quite sessionable. I’m not sure what Warney’s involvement is, I like to think he did the lautering, but I quite enjoyed this drop.
