COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moa Blanc wheat beer is brewed using a blend of 65% wheat malt and 35% barley malt which results in an elegantly smooth beer, with hints of spice and uplifting esters. The slightly cloudy appearance reflects its Germanic origins and it’s customary to gently roll the bottle before opening to create an even distribution of the sediment signature.

Tasting Notes
Moa Blanc has a fruity aroma and taste. Banana, vanilla, citrus and bubble gum fruit flavours dominate, with some phenolic characters present. Moa Blanc is a highly drinkable wheat beer, with flavours more moderate than other wheat beers. Hop aroma and bitterness are minimal. Moa Blanc is best served at approximately 4˚C in a pilsner glass.

355 ml green bottle. Gold hazy color with a decent white head. Explodes like a volcano when opened. A light spicy, citrus aroma. Almost medium bodied with creamy carbonation. The flavor seems to have a very tart cardamom and light orange peel. A very slight sweetness. Turns a bit bready as the end approaches. The palate is dry and lightly bitter. Floral hop. Not really my thing.

37,5cl bottle from Annam Gourmet Market, Saigon. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Light wheat aroma with yeast and citrus. Light and fruity and quite weak flavourwise. Finish is lighlty yeasty and slightly citric. Light and watery and quite boring, but still refreshing. (2012-05-11)

Bottle. I actually yawned while drinking this. Golden tan color. Very crisp bite, but nothing memorable or special. Nice bottle though

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2012 Appearance: light golden brown. Massive billowy head collapses to a little light lacing. Smell: grassy, fresh smelling. Taste: a hint of Belgian wit beer. Very carbonated, surprisingly so. Overall: a refreshing easy drinking wheat beer that should pair well with fresh cheeses like neufchatel, le roule, or cream cheese.

750 bottle-shared by jtclockwork @Small Tasting at my place-pours hazy yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is lemon/grassy, wheat/grain. Taste is grain/light malt, 2nd grassy hops, with some lemon at the finish. Upfront effervescence, crisp, then a quick finish.

750ml bottle. Looked like a good New Zealand bottle of beer to pop the cork on to celebrate the All Blacks winning the rugby world cup. It probably gets a higher overall rating than it deserves because of that. Hazy light golden with large but diminishing fluffy white head. Aromas of wheat banana - very estery, clove, bread dough cobwebs, apple & pear. Light sweet, moderate bitter and sour flavour with long duration. Tingly carbonation, light medium body, texture on the watery side. For a lot less coin I could have had a lot more Hoegaarden, but on this occasion Moa looked a lot more celebratory.

Welp, we have a gusher here. Green glass is wack, btw. Pours a translucent gold colour with a rocky white head, leaving globs of lace (it was a gusher, so not really winning points for that alone). The nose has a profile that borders on a Munchen Helles, an American Pale wheat, and a Belgian Single. Grassy, noble hop aroma, herbal and a bit of lightly zesty orange citrus. Possibly a bit of skunk aroma. The flavour is sweet up front, estery and bready with loads of cereal grain in the finish. Finish is short and boring, with mostly cereal grain notes coming through, much akin to most macro lagers. Almost comes across like cheap plastics. I would easily take this over those macro beers, but this is supposed to be a witbier?! Doesn’t taste or smell much like one. This should be classified as a wheat ale. Low overall score due to gushing. Must re-rate when in NZ. The turbulence from the shipment can cause gushing, indirectly.

A clear yellow colored beer, with a white head. The aroma is a little sour, with fruits and wheat. The taste is fruity, wheat and some sour. with a small bitter. It’s sparkling. The aftertaste is sweet with some bitter.

Bottle. Pours clear yellow. White head. Nose/taste of soapy spring water, lemon, herbal grasses, pilsener malt and mild coriander. Brisk clean crisp finish. Light to medium body.

Very aromatic, crisp, clean wheat beer... notes of cloves, pear, fruit/candy esters and clean long bitterness.
