COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moa Breakfast is a blend of premium wheat malt, floral Nelson hops and cherries. A very refreshing and fruity lager specifically designed as a European-style breakfast beer but more commonly enjoyed as a mid-afternoon beverage in New Zealand. Although not always.

Tasting Notes
Moa Breakfast is a wheat beer based lager with a subtle, sweet cherry aroma and taste. Hints of almond, banana and vanilla characters can also be detected. Low bitterness levels and an absence of strong malt characters emphasise these fruit flavours. Moa Breakfast can either be poured carefully off the lees or alternatively with the lees mixed in if a stronger yeast character is desired. Moa Breakfast is best served at approximately 4įC in a pilsner glass.

Light haze on this gold beer, tiny white head. Palate is light and a little crisp. Smooth and semi dry pale malt. Mild minerals. Touches of sweet apple and bubblegum ester. Semi dry finish. Itís all quite acetic and estery but oddly, quite drinkable!

Crisp, clear golden coloured body with a very thin white head that fades relatively fast. Aroma of pure blackberries, a lot of rasberries, a hint of black currants and some hay and grass in the mix with a touch of yeast - nice very fruity smell, even on the cork. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence with a pungent raspberry and blackberry flavours coupled with some malt, alcohol, hay, grass, hops and a kick of yeast. Aftertaste shows pretty much only fruit, but some light hay and grass notes are there - sort of like a glass of champagne mixed with fresh berries. Overall, a decent beer, if interesting, but the combination doesnít show too well to me - Iíd rather have a fruitier beer with more malt or a dry beer with barnyardie flavours and less fruit notes. Still, great to try and good if you like dry fruit beers with more of a saison texture and feel, but a pungent fruit note. I sampled this 37,5 cL split bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 04-January-2013 for US$4.99 sampled at home in Washington on 07-October-2013.

Bottle. One of the most inviting smelling beers Iíve opened in a long, long time ... full of fresh springy sweetness and floral appeal. Sudsy and light colored, this isnít what I expected for a beer labeled "breakfast" but what the heck. I guess itís more juice than coffee. Drinks with a beautiful herbal character, sweet with cherries and light grass, this is good stuff. Delish. (#5274, 10/1/2013)

Bottle from Hop City Birmingham - pours clear gold, very, very aggressive foaming. When I removed the cage from the bottle, the cork hit the ceiling seconds later. The bottle had been sitting in the fridge for a couple days, so I was quite surprised by the show. Aroma reminds me of cherry limeade from sonic. Cloyingly sweet. Weird.

Bottle shared by Bobby. Hazed yellow pour with a white head. Smells like fruity pebbles, sugar, pear, and apple. Candy-like sweetness, grass, grape, and cherry fruit snacks. The flavor is incredibly sweet. Candied fruit all over the place. Grape, pear, apple, and cherry fruit snacks. Kind of a Jello thing going on.

375ml cork and caged. Poured a hazy golden yellow body with a smaller frothy white head. Aroma is not good, very sweet, cherry, puke, medicinal, bubble gum and dough. Super fizzy body with overly strong carbonation and a lingering tingle from the heavy carbonation. Flavor of cherry, bubble gum, club soda, bread, medicine. Blah......

375ml bottle. Shared by dmac. Thanks bro! Pours a hazy straw color with a thin foamy white head. Aroma of really sweet cherries, wheat, and juicy fruit gum. Taste of tart cherries, sweet citrus, bitter pine, bubble gum, and wheat. Very odd beer.

Its a beer for breakfast! Also my first from Moa. bottle poured pale yellow with light head. Aroma is a cherry with touch of vanilla with a light grain. Taste bring forther some ester and cherry. Pretty dry body. Very different kind of beer. Might like it next to a big bowl of hot oatmeal.

The beer came in a nice 375ml bottle with a cork. I love the idea of a breakfast beer. On popping the cork white smoke drifted out & the smell of cherry & bubblegum hit me. It poured with a good three fingers of white head which took about two minutes to die down to about half a finger. There was light carbonation in a muddy yellow body. The taste was sweet - there were cherry & bubblegum flavours which matched the smell. The finish was long and dry. Not my favourite beer from Moa, but worth trying.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Clear yellow pour with a small, firm white head on top. This beer is weird. Nose showed promise but had a lot of sweetness and tartiness there but you could get past that. Taste was just sugary, fake lollie type notes. An odd fake black cherry tone throughout with some super sweet sherbert. Very sweet and slightly sour cherry doesnít work together at all. Too weird for me
