COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moa Five Hop winter ale shows the unique signatures of traditional North European bottle conditioning. Displaying a Nelson-dominant hoppy nose with a subtle oak character leaving extra smooth and creamy, honeyed characters on the palate. A well-balanced companion to eastern style spiced foods. Traditionally served just below room temperature.

Tasting Notes
Moa Five Hop Winter Ale utilises pilsner, Vienna, Munich and crystal malts to produce a distinctive mouth feel and flavour. New Zealand grown B Saaz and Hallertau aroma hops are used to produce an ale with an extremely high bitterness. An English ale yeast completes this ‘Brewer’s Beer’. Moa Five Hop is a strong ale fermented at warm temperatures to maximise aromatic and floral aromas. The English ale yeast provides a low apparent attenuation and sweeter finish. Bottle conditioned, Moa Five Hop will age well. Moa Five Hop is best served at approximately 9-11˚C in a tulip glass.

Good size head on a hazy dark copper body. Fresh piney hops on the aroma, nice bitterness in the taste which is the prominent characteristic, some caramel giving support in the background, easily drinkable though just not outstanding.

Bottle. Aroma: Very delicate, floral, light orange. Palate: Light-medium body. Flavor: Soft floral hops and light orange flavors. Comments: Best to have this one early in a session in order to appreciate the floral character.

(bottle) Hazy amber with big white head. Lovely citrusy floral aroma. Medium body with excellent mouthfilling find carbonation. Flavour is dominated by hops, but in a good way. There are subtle undercurrents of malt, dried fruit and citrus. Nice bitter finish. Overall an impressive beer.

My all time favorite of MOA range. Great presentation in cork and cage. Beautiful deep amber color. Hoppy aromatic nose. Get malt balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Extremely musty pear nose, like a damp, dusty, web covered basement. Cloudy orange, enormous sticky yellow head. Slightly smoky, malty bitterness, walnuts. English style, session beer. Not as sweet as some, alcohol subtle.

Nice beer. Served with a lovely, foamy, frothy, thick, creamy, cream colored head that slowly settles and some lace. Color is a clear orange honey amber. Aroma is malt, hop, musk, rye. Flavor is similar to nose, fairly dry, grain, slight tang. Body & carbonation are excellent. Finish is like flavor, on the short side, and very drinkable. I’d have more.

Bottle, 11C. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma of honey, biscuit, lemon, spices, nectarines. Sweet with caramel, biscuits and some stone fruit before a sharply spicy bitter finish. Carbonation is far too high and adds some unwelcome astringency.

12.7 fl. oz. (purchased as 5 Hop Ale) green skunky bottle from a shaker. Pour was an explosive release of foam all over my table. 5-7 fingers of head landed in the glass...the rest is on napkins and towels. Aroma was mild hops and skunk. Taste was mild malts, water, metal, and skunk. A green bottle with no date???? Come on guys. And calling a beer a 5 hop ale but then brewing a pedestrian bitter and selling it for a high price will not make me a fan of your brewery for future purchases.

375ml bottle. Deep honey colour with a fluffy thick cloud of sand coloured foam. Murky in the glass with a sweet honey aroma and some maltiness. Smooth flavour that is also sweet and carried a very strong finish with a chewy caramel flavour.
