5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
My all time favorite of MOA range. Great presentation in cork and cage. Beautiful deep amber color. Hoppy aromatic nose. Get malt balance.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the local taphouse. Great aromas of grain, smoke, citrus, with a hint of sweat. Taste is sweet, with a touch of acidity, and balancing bitterness. Palate is velvety, with a medium-to-full body. Yellow, with a frothy white head.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
375ml corked and wired green bottle. An orange beer beneath a large loose white head. I get honey, oranges, tropical fruits and biscuity malts on the nose and tongue wrapped around a deliciously smooth and balanced palate. Finishes moderately bitter. Medium bodied with perfect carbonation. A lovely drop.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nice beer. Served with a lovely, foamy, frothy, thick, creamy, cream colored head that slowly settles and some lace. Color is a clear orange honey amber. Aroma is malt, hop, musk, rye. Flavor is similar to nose, fairly dry, grain, slight tang. Body & carbonation are excellent. Finish is like flavor, on the short side, and very drinkable. I’d have more.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
375ml bottle. Deep honey colour with a fluffy thick cloud of sand coloured foam. Murky in the glass with a sweet honey aroma and some maltiness. Smooth flavour that is also sweet and carried a very strong finish with a chewy caramel flavour.

375ml bottle. Cloudy orange brown with a medium off white head, and plenty of carbonation. Aroma is herbs and spices, some grape and citrus hops. Taste is bitter with heaps of spice, and some buttery notes.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, cork and cage. Pour is cloudy dark amber with a foamy tan head. Aroma is medium roasted malt, slight toast to it, yeast comes through, some lemony and pine hops. Taste is rich luscious malt, roasted and toast coming through, layers of earthy and light citrus hops, caramel and light toffee, bitterness develops and dries out to a great finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a deep amber with a thick, off-white head. Aroma is dried fruits, pine, toffee - very malt forward. Body has the same malt complexity as the nose with a lingering bitter finish. This is great.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAY 14, 2011 From the FYO at Regional Wines & Spirits. Rich reddish brown colour, gently foaming head sitting nicely on the glass. Aroma: resin, spruce, and wafting alcohol, but fairly muted tones. Quite soft on the palate, but the hoppy sandpaper rushes in as the sweetness fades. Very warming, very drinkable, nicely balanced. Decidedly one of my favourite bitters from New Zealand in 2011. But what will Moa do next? More to the point, will the offend me to the point I stop drinking, even this very drinkable ale?
