Moa Imperial Stout is a very strong, bold upfront and rich offering of a famous beer style. Aged with French Oak, this beer not only displays coffee and mocha charters but also some sweet and spicy notes. A tannin like finish and an oak induced mellow bitterness makes it a serious stout. Moa Imperial Stout is best served just below room temperature in a tulip glass.

The head is robust, body black. It smells roasty, orange, alcoholic. The taste is roasty, orange, alcoholic, aromatic and hopintensive, also alcoholic. 4.1

12.7 oz. bottle from Party Source. Pours black with a medium sized creamy tan head. The aroma has roasted malts, chocolate, wood, some Pinot Noir character, and mild tartness. The flavor shows the barrel notes overtaking the roasted malts and dark chocolate base. Big vinous, oak character. Smooth drinking, medium bodied. The abv is mostly hidden. Interesting, but I would like more of the base to come through.

Bottle from Beer Cartel. Darkest brown, almost black, thin creamy head, woody/oaky/roasty/chocolatey aroma, dry, roasty bitterness, sweet chocolate, alcohol well hidden, medium body, thin texture, soft carbonation. Nice enough.

Poured dark, with a small amount of creamy tan head. Definitely a boozey, alchohol taste, with chocolate and malt elements. The "texture" was a little disappointing, as was the aroma, but at the same time it was rich, syrupy, and presented itself as a nice dessert beer.

Tap at Kloby’s. Pours opaque black with a medium, creamy tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is peat, earthy and herbal hops, roast malt, plums and prunes. Flavor is malt forward with tart dark fruits, light hops and bitterness, peat, and a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

No date on the bottle, poured into snifter. Black with a big foamy head. Smell - slight nail varnish. Body medium to light for the style, and a bit foamy. Taste - dry tannins up front. Barrel has taken over but is still toned down. Harsh on the stomach. It’s not bad but I feel like all this gained from the barrel aging is sharp tannins.

375 ml bottle purchased at The Craft Beer Outlet in Philly on June 20, 2013. Black, medium head. Aroma of dark chocolate with field fruit, very sour. Taste sour fruit juice, licorice and dark chocolate, slightly bitter with no sensation of alcohol. The Pinot Noir influence makes it a mellow but still very flavorful and balance Imperial Stout!
