4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
375 ml bottle purchased at The Craft Beer Outlet in Philly on June 20, 2013. Black, medium head. Aroma of dark chocolate with field fruit, very sour. Taste sour fruit juice, licorice and dark chocolate, slightly bitter with no sensation of alcohol. The Pinot Noir influence makes it a mellow but still very flavorful and balance Imperial Stout!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Pours dark brown in color with a tan head. Kind of sweet start here, some dark fruits actually, light mocha notes as well. Quite nice. Bit of boozyness as well. Feels quite smooth. Light on the roasted notes

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
A solid Imperial Stout with a purely dark viscous pour and a dark tan head filled with big and tighter bubbles. The nose is well roasted with notes of espresso and chocolate as well as vanilla and woody notes. A bit watery in the mouth with a lack of full bodied ness. Sweet and robust with espresso notes. Pretty good brew overall, but a bit thin and lacking.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Pours very dark opaque brown with tan head. Nose of coffee, chocolate, and unfortunately a lot of cherry cough syrup. Cherry cough syrup dominates the flavour with licorice in the background. Not sure if I got a bad bottle or it just isn’t to my taste, but yeah didn’t care for this one.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from bottle to glass. Rich dark opaque with light brown head. Nice retention, nice lacing. Aroma is sweet coffee, chocolate, figs. Mouthfeel is really nice with the moderate carbonation. Burnt malts interlace a slight astrigency with the hops to counterbalance the malty sweetness. CO2 provides a nice sharpness up front and finishes slightly dry. Overall a pretty nice Imperial Stout...especially for the price point.
