COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moa Methode is bottle fermented and conditioned to give a natural, more consistent carbonation and flavour. Due to the natural brewing process of Methode Moa, a light, beneficial sediment will remain. This sediment protects the beer from premature aging and leaves full, slightly spicy characters on the palate.

Tasting Notes
Moa Methode is a German style pilsner with a high bitterness balanced with a relatively full mouth feel. Citrus hop characters dominate aroma with the presence of fresh bread yeast notes. It can either be poured carefully off the lees or alternatively with the lees mixed in if a strong yeast character is desired. Moa Methode is a complex pilsner best served in a pilsner glass at approximately 6˚C to maximise aromatic release.

Very interesting to see a bottle conditioned lager. Cloudy golden color, slightly sweet and spicy. Grassy hop finish.

Bottle split with the woody’s crew. Pours a hazy yellow with large white head. Pleasantly hoppy aroma notes. Very grassy flavors. Terrific for a lager. Like a week pale ale actually.

This light yellow beer poured with a huge off-white head that started flowing as soon as the cap was popped. This is a pretty good lager – a substantial caramel malt base and appropriate hopping.

Enormous frothy head. Bite at the back, tarty and flat. Feels like alot more alcohol than 5.5%. Very morish beer.

Corked 750ml bottle. Slightly hazy straw body, sizeable creamy white head leaving clumpy lace. Particularly tart citrus aroma; lemon, grapefruit, some grainy malt. Body driven by plenty of zesty hop character; grapefruit again, passiofruit, melon in there, some grassiness with a reasonably decent grainy biscuit malt backbone. Finish is quite bitter, not too dry, quite clean. Clean lager with spicy, citrusy/fruity hops typical of NZ varieties. Easy going and pretty nice in general, though the corked bottle seems a bit unnessesary.

Bottle in Hanmer Springs. Beer advertised as "Moa - Original" I think its this one. Description said Pilsner styled but if so its very untraditional. Cloudy pale/golden beer. Mild aroma, pleasant enough. Malty tasting beer for its colour with yeasty, citrus and perhaps banana flavours coming through in after taste. Is this a lager? Different tasting beer, not too bad. Expensive however.

Bottle - 375ml. Cloudy blond body topped with a thick white frothy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with coriander and spicy hints. Nice, sharp hoppy taste with malty and herbal notes. Ends with a decent bitter finish. I am not sure this is a Lager. Well done!
