COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moa Methode is bottle fermented and conditioned to give a natural, more consistent carbonation and flavour. Due to the natural brewing process of Methode Moa, a light, beneficial sediment will remain. This sediment protects the beer from premature aging and leaves full, slightly spicy characters on the palate.

Tasting Notes
Moa Methode is a German style pilsner with a high bitterness balanced with a relatively full mouth feel. Citrus hop characters dominate aroma with the presence of fresh bread yeast notes. It can either be poured carefully off the lees or alternatively with the lees mixed in if a strong yeast character is desired. Moa Methode is a complex pilsner best served in a pilsner glass at approximately 6˚C to maximise aromatic release.

Hazy pale. The aroma is quite yeasty with a nice pear fruitiness, but also some band-aidy phenols. Full body for the style, with lots of yeasty accents. No special character, here, though. The yeast dries it out quite a bit.

Cloudy. Very sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of Pils malts, noble hops, light yeast, and grain. Light to medium body. Dry texture. Average to lively carbonation. Pils malt and hop finish is medium bitter and dry.

From AC Beer Fest. Odd pils. The aroma is grassy, sour, barnyard, a little off. The appearance is hazy yellow, white head. The flavor is sour, grassy, earthy, yeasty. The finish is sour, yeasty, spicy, a bit like unsweetened champagne. Not bad.

It’s a little sweet and a little dark for my lager preference. I enjoyed it, but unlike most lagers it was more of a sipping beer for me. I do enjoy the sweetness although there is a bit of an aftertaste I’m not that fond of.

375ml green bottle, light skunky smell at the opening, slight cloudy yellow gold hue, with a big fluffy white head, yeasty, fruity citrusy, fresh cut hay nose with a pale, pilsner malt, light floral herbal saaz hop note, with some leafy, grassy, grapefruit accents in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, bready dough, crunched pale, pilsner malt, cereal character, with a mild lactic citrusy accent, and a hint of some cooked vegetables, and a light flowery hop saaz leafiness, leading towards a citrusy, faint lingering hop bitterness finish. Probably the travelling of this beer, tired out the hoppiness and bitterness.
