COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moa Methode is bottle fermented and conditioned to give a natural, more consistent carbonation and flavour. Due to the natural brewing process of Methode Moa, a light, beneficial sediment will remain. This sediment protects the beer from premature aging and leaves full, slightly spicy characters on the palate.

Tasting Notes
Moa Methode is a German style pilsner with a high bitterness balanced with a relatively full mouth feel. Citrus hop characters dominate aroma with the presence of fresh bread yeast notes. It can either be poured carefully off the lees or alternatively with the lees mixed in if a strong yeast character is desired. Moa Methode is a complex pilsner best served in a pilsner glass at approximately 6˚C to maximise aromatic release.

Hello, what’s this? Seen these expensive little 4-packs and passed, but Turd’s review intrigued me, even if he is a shady fucker. Pours hazy light golden with a billowy head of white mousse. Nose shows zesty citrus hops, spicy like so many Kiwi hops seem to be. Grass and the freshest, lightest spruce note. Yeast rolls. Tastes even zingier. Dry palate. Crisp and refreshing, and quite the unique pils.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, golden yellow color with a large, foam-capped white head. Good bit of yeast sediment floating throughout. Limited lacing along the glass. Grassy hops, herbal notes and yeast in the aroma. Malt sweetness up front with a good amount of hop bitterness in the finish.

Visual: Elegantly foil wrapped and corked, very classy. Pours clear golden pale yellow with a nice-sized foamy head, a good layer of retention, sticky lacing, a plethora of activity. Nose: some sweet barley malt, but otherwise not much (lvl-1)-pungency Attack: super crisp, incoming barley + bitter hops Mid-palate: fizzy-airy mouthfeel, (lvl-4)-sweetness, (MAIN) barley malts, yeasty, bready, grassy Finish: subtle soft bitter hops, gentle pronounced bitter hopped finish. Summary: Good body for a pilsener, nice mouthfeel and balanced flavours.

Bottle, 06/21/2014. Golden pour, slight haze, huge rocky head, great retention and lacing. Aroma is fresh hay, floral, mild honey-like sweetness, yeast, grassy character, biscuit malts. Taste is hay, grass, mild fruity yeast character lending sweetness before drying out, mild spicy bitterness and biscuit lingering in the finish. Crisp, light body. Surprised by this one, very nice pils.

Pleasant lager - slight herbal noble hops edge - but it’s an old bottle - I’d like to try this off the tap... Not impressed enough to buy another bottle.

From a bottle. Pours a cloudy pale yellow, lasting head, floral hoppy aroma, mild bitterness with a hint of malt, a bit of spice warmth. OK

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy light yellow with a large frothy white head which hangs around. Smells like citrus, grass and some spice. Tastes yeasty, sour with a well balanced hop bitterness. Medium body with a dry bitter finish. Quite complex and rather like a saison.

Bottle from Wine Academy. Poured a hazy light nectar gold under a huge frothy white head. Aroma is sweet and floral, notes of sugary raspberry right off the bat, dough, honey, perfume and berries. Fuller fizzy carbonation, big body on this one, nicely done though. Flavor of grain, grapes, toast, hint of raspberry, grass, earthy hops. Nice overall.

Lagerboy (1171) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 10, 2014
UPDATED: MAY 21, 2014 750 ml corked and caged bottle, 5% ABV. Big champagne pop when opened. Mostly clear golden yellow, ridonculously huge horsecock of white bubbly foam makes it a pain in the ass to drink out of a fluted pilsener glass. Aroma is quite yeasty, citrusy floral pils malt. Taste follows, very yeasty, biscuity pils malt, spicy floral and citrusy. Highly carbonated, full bodied for a pilsener, moderately hopped. Drys out towards the end, too much yeast makes it: LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

This was very lively. 750ml bottle of a 5% version. not as hoppy as I would have thought it could have been this version seems to have added sweetness and forsaken the hop bite a bit. But it is very quaffable.

Pours a hazy gold with a thin white head. Smells of citrus and biscuits. Taste is sweet and moderately bitter - honey biscuits, floral and grassy hops.
