COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moa Noir is a traditionally brewed European style dark lager with an abundance of distinct aromas and flavours. Chocolate and richly roasted coffee beans dominate the senses with a full flavoured palate, giving Moa Noir a long smooth finish. A perfect beer for the changing of seasons.

Tasting Notes
Moa Noir is a European style dark lager / Munchner Dunkel. It is a dark brown beer with hues of red and a characteristic strong white foam. Malt dominates with chocolate, coffee and biscuit flavours apparent. Bitterness is low to emphasise malt flavours. Subtle bitterness rounds out the after taste and mouth feel. Hop aroma is minimal. Moa Noir is best served at approximately 6˚C in a pilsner glass.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a tight soapy off white head that slowly settles to a thin film and full collar. Aroma is bitter with some roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is more bitterness and slight vegetable roasted malt and chocolate/green pepper. Palate is thin fizzy. Nice $2 bottle.

Bottle from Utobeer, Borough Market, London. Dark amber colour with a beige head. Aroma of sweet milk chocolate malt. Light body, carbonation is rather too fizzy.

Bottle from The Warehouse, Phnom Penh. Pours dark copper, off-white head with good retention. Nose is toffee, light floral and grape. Flavour has a slight nuttiness, toffee, pretty refreshing. Definite house character here, a bit of a tannic finish.

(750ml bottle) Purchased at Hillside. Pours a brown, creamy head atop a black body. Nose of nothing. Very highly carbonated and slightly sour. Not terribly complex and somewhat disappointing for this brewery. --- reviewed on RateBeer.com

A middle of the road brew from Moa. Nothing to write home about - but nothing much to complain about either. I’m not really a lager fan and don’t really understand what a dark one adds...but to each his own I guess.

Bottled@HBF2013. Deep copper colour, small off-white creamy head. Aroma is floral, some grassy and herbal notes along with some toasted malts. Flavour is herbal, grassy, mild ashes, toffee and some mild floral notes. Surprisingly tasty, but not your typical dunkel...

3fourths (9104) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 4, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2013 bottle-conditioned 33cl 2013 batch. hazed dark brown body with a fine-bubbled tan head with some retention and lacing. malty aroma with a lot of toasted grains and black patent char and dry licorice notes, but also a subtle gaminess (wet dog hair, animal scat / soil). medium-light body, medium sweetness, mild bitterness. very much in the vein of Czech tmavy: lots of chewy dark caramel malt and charred black malt but absent the roast of German-style schwarzbier. crunchy, toasty and lightly husky malt flavor. good calcium / mineral character plays nicely with Munich-like cookie batter, caramel, vanilla and nut character. rich, chewy, round, enjoyable malt savoriness. thankfully the early gaminess goes away after some time, or I get used to it enough that it’s not an issue. quite good, but for the price I will buy Session Black in bulk and be happy enough.
