COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moa Original Lager is a classically brewed lager created from a blend of New Zealand premium malts and world famous Nelson Sauvin hops. This beer shows an array of crisp and dry characters on the palate but also has a clean floral nose.

Tasting Notes
Moa Original is an easy drinking, European style pilsner with a medium to high level of bitterness. Ester levels are low, and a slight hop aroma should be detected. The finish is dry as a result of the bitterness and the high level of attenuation. Moa Original is best served in a pilsner glass at approximately 6˚C to maximise aromatic release. A beer for any occasion.

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Nose of malt and pepper. Slightly hazy golden beer with thin film on top. A few bubbles. Full bodied and flat in the mouth. Taste is a cleansing bitterness followed by a dry earthy hoppiness, some peppery raisin notes very late on. Excellent lager (more like a pils), moreish.

Bottle from bhensonb. Pours hazy white gold with a huge white head and a floral aroma. There is a flat pils flavor with a dry nondeScript finish.

Bottle from Messrs Barley Malt & Hops, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy straw colour with a broken frothy white head and a few bubbles. The aroma is skunky lager malt, some hops. The flavour is moderate bitter with a watery, light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with lively carbonation. It’s hard to imagine how this beer actually won any awards!

330 ml bottle bought at YATA in MOKO, Mong Kok.

Transluceent deep straw golden colour; Near zero head and residual soapy white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Fair sticky lacing with acyive slight carbonation; Unpleasant smell of Pils malt, with wet cardboard, strong bread, dough, strong yeast and very thin grass. Close to medium sweet taste of malt, with floral, sugar, strong dough, strong yeast, light lemon, moderate to light bitter hops and grass; Mid to light body., fairly slick palate; Mouth feel is like a yeasty unfiltered German Lager, but its malt is rather light, quite empty and has a dirty feel to it. Slightly flowery and pretty sweet. Very doughty and fair lemon to round. Close to okay but not quite… Hoppiness is muddled by the yeast so that you can’t smell any NS fruitiness from it, but only very thin grass nose, lemon, and stronger grass in taste; Bitterness is fairly strong for a lasting, medium astringent sweet malty finish; Fairly dry after taste. Sweet, yeasty and fairly bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one feels like a Zwickel and too cloudy and muddy to be a Premium Lager. You can’t smell the NS because of this , and the taste is lesser malt than expected and too much yeast. The strong hoppiness comes too late to save this. Just not very good at all.

Dorada ligeramente turbia. Aroma con predominio de la levadura. En boca buen amargor, toque cítrico y algo metálico también. Pero el conjunto es agradable, refrescante y bebible.

Bottle from Dan Murphy’s 070515. Not a lot going on with this beer. Straw coloured with a white head and not a lot of aroma. Flavour is minimal as is the finish.

Bottle. Aroma is mainly malty, some hoppy fruitiness. Rich malty body balanced with light hops. Good lager i think.

Not much in the aroma. Some pils malt but that’s about it. Flavor is sweet (slightly fruity) with an almost balanced, clean bitterness. Appearance is just off crystal clear and bright yellow. Little head. High carbonation. I’d like it better with the sweetness dialed back a tad and more in the aroma (though that could be my senses at the moment).

Little to differentiate it from countless other bog standard premium lagers.
