COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a wheat beer base, Moa Sour Blanc is a throwback to how the very first beers were produced. Fermented and aged in oak barrels using natural wild yeast and selected bacterium, this beer carefully balances phenolic and complex acidity with dryness and funk. A sour beer in the traditional Belgian Lambic style with a complexity best described as a riot of flavours.

Bright yellow with a good finger of active, bright white head, plenty of carbonation and some turbidity. The aroma was quite pronounced: sour lemon all over. It is perfumy and enticing and the flavour is similarly strong. It was clean, sour and refreshing and I drifted off to sleep a happy man.

Light golden in colour with a very small white head round the edge of the glass. Lovely and vinegary and citrussy on the nose. Creamy in the mouth very nice and tart, plenty of sourness. Really nice.

Bottle. Citric, tart, crisp beer, dominated by notes of white wine. Not really complex and not really a lambic, but quite likeable.

2012 vintage. Picked this up from local bottle store to try something new. Aroma reminds me of Sauvignon Blanc wine. Appearance is a lovely golden colour, white head which dissipates quickly. Taste is of wine, lemony wine. Body is light. Overall reminds me more of wine than beer, not unpleasant but not what I was expecting at all.

Bottle shared at the Bottle Shop, Bermondsey - London. Thanks to the generous heart of Kenny for this one. Vintage 2013. Pours unclear, pale yellow with a frothy, white head. Nice lemon aroma, with accents of pale wood and hay. Light to medium sweet flavor, fairly dry, with faint cereal, lemon, pale bread. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Somewhat clean to finish, slightly sweet, with more lemon, light apple notes, some pale woody dryness. Overall, it’s pretty tasty.

Bottle big thanks to Kenny. It pours cloudy golden with a small white head. The nose is fresh, funky, white wine, gooseberry, lactic acidity, white wine vinegar and tang. The taste is crisp, tart, minerals, lemon rind, some acidity, white wine vinegar, white grape, gooseberry, creaminess and a decent lactic bite with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Well rounded and quaffable. Rather nice.

Bottle shared at bottle shop. Many thanks to Kenny. Aroma is white wine, grape, funk and sour, light vinegar. Translucent hazy white yellow coloured pour with a thin white head. Flavour is composed of tangy onion, white wine, grape, funky, tangy. Palate is light sweet, sour, highish carbonation. Really good stuff.

Bottle share at the Bottleshop. Hazy paleish gold beer, small white head. Minerally crisp palate. Nice light sourness, touch of lemon. Good white wine vibe, mildly sweet. A light crisp finish brings a touch of white wine vinegar. Refreshing and nicely mildly sour, no bloody lactic nonsense.

375cl bottle at The Bottle Shop, major thanks to Kenny for sharing this one! It pours a slightly hazy pale straw color with small white head. Aroma is funky sour citrusy tart white wine and light vinegar. Taste is mildly sweet medium sour lightly vinegary with more notes of funk horse blanket white wine and wood. Light bodied with good carbonation. Overall out standing

Pours yellow with a fading head. Nose shows funky wild yeast and soft custard and vanilla notes along with elderflower and lemon. Flavours are similar. Gentle acidity, funk and woody notes. Carbonation is too high.

Really enjoyed this as one of the first sours I’ve tried. Aroma is like green apple with some "funk", maybe from the oak. Taste is complex, sour, similar to a homebrew cider in some ways with a wheat base. Light bodied with moderate carbonation.
