COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Weka Pear Cider is made from a blend of North and South Island pears. It is made in a very approachable off dry style that really accentuates the pear characters on both aroma and palate. Crisp, refreshing and great alternative to apple cider.

Tasting Notes
Weka Pear Cider is made from Nelson and Hawkes Bay Pears fermented in stainless steel tanks at very cool temperatures to preserve the subtle fruit flavours. Fermentation is initiated and the ferment is checked daily until it is deemed ready to stop the fermentation when sugar and fruit balance is optimal.

Weka Pear Cider is left to rest on its gross lees for 3 weeks before it is then racked and left to condition in a tank at very cool temperature for two weeks. After two weeks of conditioning it is then filtered, carbonated, prepared for bottling, and dressed for sale.

Weka Pear Cider has an abundance of fruit charters, mainly pear and pip fruit characters. The finish is smooth at first but finishes with a medium/dry sweetness and a crisp acidity.

Easy drinking session cider. Sweet yet not sickly. Elegant taste of pear but not as a complex in comparison to the weka apple ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear light yellow-gold with a definite vinho verde tinge with no head and plenty of sparkling carbonation. The aroma is more toward champagne yeast, green berrifruit, gooseberry and slight apple character. I get very little pear and plenty of cider. The flavour is dominated at first by a rush of prickly carbonation and then softer, subtle fruit flavours. A fair bit of acid and off-dry in style. A fairly short finish too with the tingle of bubbles remaining long after the fruit has gone. A good quencher on a hot day.
