Had on draft at brewery. Nose: Caramel, fruity hops in the background Taste: Crystal grains, finished with floral and fruity notes from the hops, balanced bitterness I found this to be an easy drinking beer.

West USA trip 2010. On tap @ the brewpub. The aroma has some caramel, fruitiness. Clear, amber coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is light sweet and bitter and has caramel, cookie, citric hops. It has a dry end and the beer is a bit thin.

On tap at the brewery on 7/13/09. Pours a clear light amber and orange, little cream-colored head. Touch of caramel and pine in aroma, but not much. Very off-tasting that didn’t have a great bitter/sweet balance. Not a great example of the style.

On tap at the Moab Brewery. Pours a dark amber, almost purple, with a thin beige head. The aroma was actually quite hoppy, with some rich caramel malts too. The taste reminded me of a fine English IPA; bunches of malts, caramel, and some light hops. Pretty nice. Full and flavorful.

On tap at brewery. This seems to be the heartier attempt at the Deadhorse. I’m starting to notice a trend here...watery! No body! I wonder why? Maybe because you can only brew to 4%! Ugh. Once again, you can tell exactly where they were trying to go with this if it wasn’t so watery. Better than the Deadhorse for sure.

Had this beer at GABF 10/2/1999. Aroma is fresh and hoppy. Taste is a sharp malt taste that comes off with an alcohol feel, no hop flavor but a nasty bitterness. Not good in any way.
