Modelo Especial

There’s not much to say about this. Pale color, boring macro lager flavor. I simply got it because it was free and there were no good choices, so I figured I’d at least try something new. Blah. I liked the Negra Modelo, so I was hoping this would be better than expected...not really.

Thin light and watery with the head to match. Light golden color. Has all the makings of a slightly blander version of Corona, with less sweetness and less beer flavoring. Might have been a little better with some salt and a lime perhaps? I don’t know, I don’t give this beer a very high standard, there is nothing special about Modelo Especial. Go for it’s counter part, Modelo Negro.....a lot better!

Bottle. Pours gold with light soft head. Smells grainy and slightly hopped. Tastes malty, watered down, but very good for a mexican beer. Very light, crisp and refreshing. I will drink this one again.

Bottle. Low and quickly disappearing white fluffy head. Clear golden body. Sweet aroma with fruity notes and alcohol on top of it. Flavor also pretty sweet and fruity but the malt notes and the hops bitterness makes this better much better than feared. Low carbonation. Long sweet aftertaste.

This was a one hit wonder as I switched to something else after a hit. Thisi s pale and clear as you pour with a hint of something sweet on the tongue. Not a recommend even for a hit!

Love the taste and aroma. Best beer I have every tasted. VIVA MEXICO!!

Bottle, 330ml. A pale straw colour with a small head. Nice floral aroma with lots of honey and some elderflower. Taste is hoppy with honey, elderflower and malty notes. Moderate carbonation. Actually pretty nice, and easy to drink.

Pours a clear gold color with little head. A soft hoppy aroma. Watery hop taste, but I would prefer this over most Mexican macrobrews. Not bad, but not at all great. Modelo es bueno.
