Watery hop taste, but I would prefer this over most Mexican macrobrews. Not bad, but not at all great. Modelo es bueno. Maria (6167), Thisted, Denmark

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 7, 2008 Bottle from Phil_l with a box of fun stuff Beer Merchants. Thanks Phil! Pleasant little trip into the over-saturated colors of nostalgia with this one. Ambitious road trip right down the middle of the Mexico, over mountains, to coffee plantations, deserts, both coasts. My dismal Spanish. Getting very lost at 3 am in Mexico City. A great adventure, and some Modelo Especial figured in there somewhere.
Pours pale copper with a lot of white head that collapses away quickly. Some definite hop nose, sort of a hop extract quality, a bit industrial but fine, some toasted field corn. Supermarket white bread malt flavor, a bit more of those industrial hops. Admittedly under the influenced of nostagia, this beer was more enjoyable than the sum of it’s parts, Fun to try it again. I guess this is better than Anheuser World Select, but it’s not a pilsener style beer at all, so I score this beer an extra fail. italianjohn (346), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA
