Modelo Especial, a pilsener type beer, was introduced to the market in 1966. Today it is sold in glass bottles as well as cans, which are having an increasing demand due to consumer preferences, making Modelo Especial the leader in the can segment in Mexico.

appearance: clear straw, short fizzy bright white head, minimal lacing. aroma: hint of cracker, corn, grass, and lemon. taste: zesty lemon, bit of saltine cracker and white bread. finish: clean, crisp, hint of white pepper. notes: Look, this is a shit Mexican lager but it’s not the worst thing in the world. When you’re blasting a bunch of Tex-Mex down your gullet, this is an appropriate lubricant. Draft at Villa Maya in Rockville.

Bottle - Clear golden colour, small white head, fair retention. Grainy aromas with some grassy hops. Taste is weak malty with some corny and papery aftetrtaste. Thin body, average carbonation, watery mouthfeel, dry and blank finish. Not a good one, but its not so tragic.

Pours clear gold with a fast fading white head. Very light malt aroma. Some sweet malt taste but pretty watered down with a moderate carbination. Nothing much to this beer.

If I’m craving my cheap ole Mexican beers and can’t find Tecate, I’ll go for the Modelo Especial. Pretty much the same thing. No need to go into super detail. It gets the job done, just takes a little longer. Good for a long day of football.

Bottle with Lime. 4.5%. Blind, I could not distinguish this from Corona. Taste (what there is of it) is minimal. Canoe sex.

Butelka (przezroczysta) 24 fl. oz. (ok. 710 ml). Barwa jasno bursztynowa, z barwy wygląda jak Corona/Desperados. Piany brak. Aromat słaby. W smaku z nutą kwaskowości, jakby octowości. Szybko schodzi z podniebienia.
