john81 (8), USA does not count Feb 17, 2008 Similar to “premium” US mass produced beers. I have only drank it in Mexico and everything tastes better on the beach in January. fredjaz (108), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Feb 16, 2008 Light yellow thin body. Pretty typical mexican beer. watered down, not a lot of flavor. mmmbeer (737), Austin, Texas, USA Feb 14, 2008 12 oz can poured into lager glass- poured transparent thin golden yellow, white head quickly disappeared, medium carbonation (tiny bubbles). Aroma of old yellow ear corn and musky oats, ugh. Hits the mouth with a thin body, can taste alot of corn in it, finish is rather inept. Make the bad beer stop, make the bad beer stop!!! kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Feb 13, 2008 Updated: Apr 1, 2009Pours golden, pale yellow, with a 1 inch quickly thinning, white heat that settle to a film. Pretty bubbling. Has a small white top. Smells like sweet grain with a decent bittering, hop aroma presence. Tastes like thick, corn malt, and some cleaning agent? Bland finish. A little thick for a ale lager, doncha think? pkbites (309), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Feb 10, 2008 I work for a municipality where we have a lot of Mexican events (rodeos, dances, etc..). I see a lot of people drinking Modelo. A co-worker said it was good stuff, and that’s why we saw so many Latinos drinking it instead of Tacate or Carona.
Well, tonight my son left a 6 pack of it in our fridge. I don’t know what my co-worker was on! This stuff sucks! Pours a piss yellow with no head. Smells like cheap malt liquor: corn water and syrup. Weak watered down flavor. What little flavor there is is really bad. Like rotting fruit.
Some bitter after-taste, but not in a good way. I probably won’t be finishing the rest of these. Blech! blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Feb 9, 2008 12 oz. bottle, clear golden color with small head, very crisp and bright finish,. not a bad pilsner Dixon (31), Iowa, USA Feb 2, 2008 Our waiter recommended it when we went out for Mexican last week. It went along great with my meal, but I would never drink it otherwise and never without the lime they added. The flavor wasn’t horrible, it was just fruity and sweet - no hoppiness to it at all. Slacks (480), Bolton, Ontario, Canada Jan 27, 2008 12oz Bottle: My first bottle on my Mexican beer quest on my cruise last week, and a lesson learned: beer gets cheaper the further you get away from the main drag in Cozumel. Bought this from a lady in a pharmacy that didn’t speak english, only enough to say "2!". Never pay more than a dollar for Mexican beer. Anyways, I had it from the clear bottle and was shocked to find it hadn’t gone skunky. Until I tasted it and realized it would have required hops for that. That said I can see how it might be refreshing if I’d been stranded in the desert for a week with no sustenance or water.
