It went along great with my meal, but I would never drink it otherwise and never without the lime they added. The flavor wasn’t horrible, it was just fruity and sweet - no hoppiness to it at all. Bought this from a lady in a pharmacy that didn’t speak english, only enough to say "2!". Never pay more than a dollar for Mexican beer. Anyways, I had it from the clear bottle and was shocked to find it hadn’t gone skunky. Until I tasted it and realized it would have required hops for that. That said I can see how it might be refreshing if I’d been stranded in the desert for a week with no sustenance or water. jb (1033), Rochester, New York, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 26, 2008 Had this alongside a nice spicy Mexican meal today and it worked well in that context. Served with a lime, the fruitiness of the lime played a big part, showing up in the aroma and flavor. Palate was delicate with a sweetness of honey. Appearance was very dull, pale and headless. zathrus13 (1296), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

Taste of a liitle malt and hops along with some corn. Not a bad tasting mxican brew. FLnative80 (174), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 15, 2008 Can. 12 fl. oz. Golden yellow with white, thin, disappearing head. Very light grain aroma. Thin body with a slightly dry texture. Not much to the flavor. Just a fair amount of bitterness. Goes down easy without any overpowering skunkiness. I’ll take a cooler full of these to the beach anyday. JDUB (170), Beautiful Venice Beach, California, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 9, 2008 24 oz tall boy. Pasadena, CA. Snow in the local mountains following a stormy weekend - lots of muddy mountain biking - awesome. Sorry, that all excites me more than the beer. I mean hey, is anyone actually reading up on Modelo Especial ratings for real connoisseur insights???
Actually, this ain’t that bad for a "brown-baggin’ it" kind of evening at the local mini mart. Light fizzy yellow (trivia, author?: "Fizzy Yellow Beer is for Wussies"). Hay aroma with a slight manufactured fruity sweetness. cheap lager flavor. Ahhh, at $1.99 it’ll do.
