Poured like Bud, looked like Bud, tasted sweeter than Bud with a touch more of an after taste. Sort of the Taco Bell of Mexican imports - truth to tell, though, it holds its own against Corona - but priced accordingly...

Not worth typing much about this one. Aroma- barely anything- some adjuncts corn, etc with very light touches of malt. taste is pretty much the same. very watery, I can say it was pretty clean though.

Modelo Especial? Must be French. Clear, golden pour Slight aroma of grain scythed from fields by day laborers. Sweet, sticky aroma. Finish is crisp. This beer is about as bad as the US immigration policy. The only reason I would buy this brew again is if it jumped out of the can and drywalled my basement.

Typical Corona type pale lager. This one is roughly the same, but it does have that slightly sweet crispy finish.

Not bad for a Mexican beer, but like all other Mexican beers I’ve tried, you practically have to stick a whole lime in it to make it interesting (breaking a man law of fruiting the beer, I know, but what can ya do?). Went great with the enchiladas, rice, and beans! Overall, good, but nothing to write home about.

Like most the classic Mexican beers the colour and smell are nothing special. I like it beter than Corona a little smoother and a lighter carbonation.

I needed another beer to round out a purchase I was making, so I grabbed a tallboy of this stuff. Heck, I’ve always liked anything and everything Mexican, so why not? The can is really handsome--a tall, white column with sharp blue lettering, a clean and memorable design. The can pours with a nice, foamy head that sinks down to a moderate level and lingers well. Some lacing, too. The color is a medium gold. Carbonation OK, many small bubbles. The aroma was sourish, as is typical of pale lagers, with a faint wheaty scent. Palate on the watery side, with some slight fizz. The taste is undistinctive and rather bland, with little bite. Despite the high ABV rating, this didn’t give me much of a kick. Little real trace of hops, at least in the can I had. A smooth beer, no rotten dregs. I have been reading the wonderful comic strip "Locas" (Love and Rockets) lately, and the Mexican-American kids in it drink a brew called "Vato’s Gold," a vato being your average guy on the street. This is essentially Vato’s Gold. It’s better than a BMC, it goes down easy and wouldn’t be bad on a hot day with your tacos, and you get a fair amount for the money. It’s an average pale lager. You can do a lot better, but you can do a lot worse, too.
