cazort (413), Newark, Delaware, USA Apr 21, 2007 Updated: Apr 28, 2007I was not particularly impressed with this brew; it was the least interesting of all of the similarly priced mexican imports that I’ve tried. The flavour is weak...some hops present, some malt, and a bit of the creamy taste characteristic of Mexican beers. No unpleasant flavours like the American macro brews. TerryR (382), Oswego, Illinois, USA Apr 12, 2007 24oz. can. Golden with a decent white head that instantly vanishes. Aroma is some sweet malt and corn. Flavor is corn and light grain. Not much in the finish. Typical of the style. DrnkMcDermott (1831), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Apr 9, 2007 Updated: Oct 7, 200912 oz. can. Hey kids! Cheap Mexican beer on a Monday night! Doncha wish you were me? But seriously. Saw a loose can and decided canned was the fairest way to judge. But no… oxidized, slightly skunky smell when I flip the top. Usual pale gold lager pour, a bit of fizz that ends with no head. Taste is mostly just carbonation, with a little bitterness and a lot of corn. Offers a little bit of thirst quenching. If not for being so gassy, might go down well on a hot day. Kudos for the can design which looks like it hasn’t changed in 40 years. bhensonb (4180), Woodland, California, USA Apr 7, 2007 Light hop aroma. Brassy color with very little head. Starts with light malt, balanced with grassy hop. Mild hop finish. chrisok (77), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Apr 7, 2007 Nice golden color with a quickly disappearing white head. Very faint malty aroma with some bitterness. The taste was average with a thin, crisp finish. hopscotch (5437), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Apr 6, 2007 Updated: Apr 7, 2007Can... AWOL ’07... Clear yellow lager with a mid-sized, fizzy, white head. Not much to smell or taste. It’s seltzer water, basically. Near medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. This is to Corona as Busch is to Budweiser? MontereyJimbo (79), Monterey, California, USA Apr 1, 2007 Updated: Jun 6, 2008I’m re-rating this because I had a couple in Nashville recently after having two other beers that were far better. The boiled corn taste got to me and I came close to pouring. I would have if not for the fact that it was all the beer I had left. If it had been one of those burnt craft ales I would have. NobleSquirrel (1094), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 1, 2007 from the can. sweet and fruity, very adjunct laden. But admirably drinkable. I wouldn’t throw this swill away instantly! Wow, and at a whopping 6%, too!
