An average lager, but I preferred this to Corona, Dos Equis and Sol when in Mexico. Not sure why, but preferred withoot lime. The dark version is better.

I’ve consumed enough beer at Mexican restaurants to have had this beer before, but I’d never really thought about what it tasted like and actually thought to compare to...other beers. Appearance is slightly darker than most mainstream American lagers. There is little to no head and no lacing of any kind. Nothing about this particular example of this beer indicates that anything special went into the manufacture (I hesitate to use the word brewing) of this beer (this is from a can). Smell is practically non-existent. Taste is very much of corn, and is rather sweet, like Coors Light, which I find slightly unpleasant. The next time I have Mexican food, I suspect I’ll save myself a few $$’s and drink something domestic instead...it won’t be missed.

12 oz can: Pours a golden color with a huge white foamy head. Aroma is somewhat malty, corn, wet cardboard, and some spiceiness. Taste is lightly malty, corn, and a metallic note. Palate is watery and everso slightly bitter. Overall, It’s a not so good pale lager that is best served ice cold. It’s rather blah...

Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a clear dark golden color with a very thin layer of alabaster bubbles. Aroma and taste are of sweet malt, grass, hay, spice and lemon, with subtle hops bitterness well blended. Well carbonated, with a nice mouthfeel. Ending is of citrus and sweet malt. This is a nice lightly aromatic pale lager.

Aroma is bready with some sweet corn. Flavor is about the same plus lingering breadiness like other mexican lagers, which isnt too bad. More of a pervasive corn bread aftertaste than some regional competitors. Nothing great and not an exceptional value, but decent for what it is.

First off my bottle was 4.5% not the 6% as listed? so could that explain its utterly taste-less flavour and palate. Had some bad beers but this is one worthy of its minimal piss-poor score.

Very quick-to-die coarse head. Sort of a dark straw color - a surprising amount of color given what I expected from this. Aroma is nearly non-existent - just a vague cereal-esque hint consisting predominantly of barley. Slight hint of vanilla. No hops character in aroma. Flavor is similarly thin, with only a slight tint of hops bitterness, and a lightly sweet, honey-like finish. I get more vanilla and a huge amount of fizz, making for a sort of cream-soda like experience. Despite all the fizz, it manages to finish quite flat.

Poured a tan yellow, mith more tint than i expected. Carbonated fizzy head. Dies quickly. Crisp taste. The alcohol makes up for the lack of flavor in the beer. It ends up tasting like harsh hops. Overall not as bad as i expected, but way too pricey at $16 for a 12 pack
