jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA Feb 17, 2006 From a 12 oz. distinctive shaped stubby Modelo clear bottle with a gold foil wrapped neck and no freshness date. Made a decent appearance, pour a clear orange hued golden with a small fluffy white head that reduced to minimally sticking bubbly thin lacing. Had a nice aroma for a macro lager, a sweet grainy maltiness and lemony hops in the background. Good carbonation and a slick, smooth light bodied mouth feel, above average drinkability. Had a cereal grainy maltiness, slightly sweet, a smooth, gentle hop bitterness and a dry, crisp grainy finish.
frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Feb 14, 2006 Golden under fast white with a hint of carbonation. Bland, grainy/corny aroma/flavor with light sweetness. On par with some of the other fine Mexican lagers I’ve sampled recently, which have little value aside from quelling the spiciness of a Mexican meal. Not bad, just not much of anything.

RAYBOY01 (1812), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 11, 2006 Weak, tepid, watered-down and flavorless...except for some corn adjuncts, light hint of malts, and tiniest tingle of faint hop bitterness. JFowler (30), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Feb 11, 2006 If you still drink Corona instead of this you are retarded. Great simple mexican good for warm weather. I have to have this or Negra when my family goes out for mexican. Along w/ a shot of the best tequila known to man. Sauza Tres Generaciones Anejo. I’m partial to mexican beer. By the way this is some of the best beer you can get in a can. Flavor wise little bitey full flavor (for Mexican brew) very smooth. Likeburning (149), Franklin, Tennessee, USA Feb 3, 2006 Clear gold appearance in the clear bottle (which is a bad idea) The aroma is of other skunky mexican pale lagers along with the taste. It is better than Corona, but not by very much. LtJudge (431), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Jan 31, 2006 Can-Poured a somewhat medium yellow with a small head.Had aroma of corn. Was expecting a skunky typlical mexican beer taste, but to my suprise,no skunk, and a ok flavor(corn, sugar adjunct, you know, the usual)But not bad, better that corona. McKnizzle69 (89), Machesney Park, Illinois, USA Jan 30, 2006 Bottle: Light in color with little to no head. Nice corn flavor with little taste of anything else. Nice refreshing summer beer. Better than Corona. smoosh (523), New Albany, Indiana, USA Jan 23, 2006 Bottle - look of an American Standard, but a touch darker. White head. Some malt and some corn in the aroma, but the aroma is actually quite minimal. The flavor is mild, but good. Almost like Budweiser, but without the skunkiness. No real hops to be found. Mouthfeel is medium to a tad thin. I’m not a real fan of Mexican beers, but getting away from Corona I’m finding that some are passable. This is one of those.
