Modelo Especial, a pilsener type beer, was introduced to the market in 1966. Today it is sold in glass bottles as well as cans, which are having an increasing demand due to consumer preferences, making Modelo Especial the leader in the can segment in Mexico.

Smells like a lager. Mild tasting with a little bitter taste. Apparently it tastes good with Tabasco so I'm going try it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can + lime to mouth. Light grainy aroma and obviously some citrus and lime character. Pale yellow with a green chunk in it. Small white head. Taste is sort of grainy with some corn like flavor. Light fruity esters, almost flower like. And again, some citrus and lime. Overall a decent crushing beer but I can find cheaper swill lagers for that purpose.

Poured from 12 oz bottle. a pale golden with small white head. Faint aroma of malt, corn, and citrus. Flavor was malty with some hops. Light body. Pretty typical pilsner. Goes well with my fajitas.

On draft a local Mexican restaurant. Not the best lager in the world, even with the help of a lime. The beer poured a bright, clean and transparent straw color with very little head. The flavors were kind of skunky and bland.

(1463-310515)

Bottle to pint with a lime. Better than expected. Light and pretty watery. Hardly any malts and absolutely no hop profile.

Very light light yellow with soda carbonation. No aroma no malt no nada. Somewhat. Bitter but not a good bitter from hops, just you typical fizzy yellow stuff.

Dorada muy clara, brillante. Aroma malteado. En boca, muy refrescante, bien carbonatada. Aguada. Tipica Méx. Cumple lo esperado, pa acompañar comida Méx.

Bottle from some supermarket on Mallorca, Spain. The beer has got a clear golden colour with a small head and thin body. Aroma of mild hops, malts, bread, mild fruits and dust. Uninspiring beer, quite boring, nothing special.
