Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark Feb 20, 2005 Extremely watery. Thin flavour. Metallic finish. A horrible beer. I could imagine it would be great with some burittos or something?? Jonathan3584 (323), Washington, Washington DC, USA Feb 17, 2005 Golden lager color. White head that dissipated almost instantly. Thin metallic flavor. Sweet note of cider in the middle of the flavor. Not enjoyable. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Feb 15, 2005 Preservative-laden, astringent, bubbley and acidic. The Mexican equivalent of Miller Lite. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Feb 8, 2005 Updated: May 14, 20072004 bottle. I actually bought this only half-jokingly. I was planning Mexican for dinner, and am sick/tired so didnt want a big, alcoholic beer. Just wanted something refreshing. Granted there are much better choices out there that fit that bill, but nonetheless, I still wanted to try this one, being not altogether disenfranchised from Grupo Modelo’s Modelo line. Ok, now that I’ve, perhaps, justified drinking a pale lager, here are my thoughts. Better than average color to the pour, most likely from the corn. Maize-golden and clear with a white head. Little aroma to speak of, though what is there, is not offensive or skunky. Light grains, touch of honey and perhaps a hint of bitterness. Flavor could be this beer’s strong point, with an even honey grain taste, and yes, hops. Light and very faint, but they do add a touch of bitterness and they are unmistakeably there. Finish has a bit of lager yeast flavor and a strong note of corn, which I actually found pleasant. Corn’s not all that bad. It didnt taste like corn syrup, but like actual corn. Texture is fizzy and overcarbonated, but the light lager crispness seems to help mitigate that. Light body. Would definitely drink/buy this again if I was in the mood. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA Feb 6, 2005 Pours a clear straw color with a thick, foamy white head. Malty aroma and sweet malty flavor devoid of any hop presence. Drinks well, though. Pretty smooth and fairly enjoyable. Better than Corona, for sure. Cartoonkhaki (1149), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Jan 31, 2005 Light golden mexican water... with white head.. Somewhat skunky aroma grassy flavour nothing special other then being a new beer for me to try.... mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Jan 28, 2005 Pours a medium golden color. Aroma is very skunky and grainy. Flavor is quite bland with a little bit of skunkiness. Finish is watery. I think there might be a slight malt flavor.
