Modelo Especial, a pilsener type beer, was introduced to the market in 1966. Today it is sold in glass bottles as well as cans, which are having an increasing demand due to consumer preferences, making Modelo Especial the leader in the can segment in Mexico.

Bottle. Golden beer with a whitish head. Light malt aroma. Light malt and light mineral aroma. Medium bodied. Light malt and light mineral notes linger.

Bottle with lime. I thought this wasn't too bad. Not much happening aroma-wise. some corn, dusty grain. Pale, sparkly look to it. Palate was decent- light crisp and pretty lively. Perhaps the lime helped, but it went down a treat with some nachos. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Giant can to nonic pint glass. Pours pure golden with a tall eggshell head that descends quickly to not a whole lot, leaving some sudsy lace somehow. Nose involves soft corn, golden grain, slight honey, and faint grassy hops. Fairly sweet without much bitterness, perhaps a light tartness. Medium bodied, tingly, with a dusty grain finish. Not awful, no skunkiness detectable, though a clear bottle couldn’t be good for this. Really, not too bad of a brew, much better than other Mexican (and American by way of Belgium and Brazil) alternatives. Is it worth the premium, though? Where I am, a 24-pack case is $5 more than bud, but a 24 oz. can is the same price. Regardless, i would drink this at a Mexican restaurant with something involving refried beans and farmers cheese. A relleno perhaps. Not a tamale though. For that, Negra Modelo.

Can. Pours light gold with disappearing white head. Little aroma corn and malt. Corn flavor little hop aftertaste. Good lawnmower beer. Better than Corona

Pours a very light yellow with a good bit of carbonation. Very little aroma. Taste of sweet corn and some floral flavors. Lawnmower beer.

I bought this for the wife. It was a buck less than Corona and miles away from cliche. Poured pale yellow with white head. Scent was grainy. Taste was slightly sweet but a touch tinny. Brewed fizzy to hide the obvious shortcomings in other areas. Can - Carousel - Panama City Beach, FL

As said by many other people, good for a hot day and thats about it. The bottle is cool though.

Nice color, but a simple flavor with and increase in hops at the end. Nothing special, better served cold in a sunny day.

Somewhat, dark-yellow colored beer, but it has a regular white foamy head. Somewhat sweet/hoppy aroma, but not very present.

Probably one of the worst beers I have had, doesn’t taste like anything in particular it just kind of is beer. At the same level of natty and keystone.
