Bottle. Pours clear gold with a white head. The aroma is pretty bad. Armpit and old cheerios. The flavor is not nearly as offensive as the aroma, if fact, I imagine this would actually be quite drinkable straight from the bottle. In a glass though, not so much. The consummate cheapskate, I was still able to finish the bottle without much trouble.

Not so bad. This is one of the sweetest pilsners that you will find. The sweet flavor provides a sense of more body here than there probably is. Effervescent gold in color. Dangerous photosensitive clear bottle.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2007 2004 bottle. I actually bought this only half-jokingly. I was planning Mexican for dinner, and am sick/tired so didnt want a big, alcoholic beer. Just wanted something refreshing. Granted there are much better choices out there that fit that bill, but nonetheless, I still wanted to try this one, being not altogether disenfranchised from Grupo Modelo’s Modelo line. Ok, now that I’ve, perhaps, justified drinking a pale lager, here are my thoughts. Better than average color to the pour, most likely from the corn. Maize-golden and clear with a white head. Little aroma to speak of, though what is there, is not offensive or skunky. Light grains, touch of honey and perhaps a hint of bitterness. Flavor could be this beer’s strong point, with an even honey grain taste, and yes, hops. Light and very faint, but they do add a touch of bitterness and they are unmistakeably there. Finish has a bit of lager yeast flavor and a strong note of corn, which I actually found pleasant. Corn’s not all that bad. It didnt taste like corn syrup, but like actual corn. Texture is fizzy and overcarbonated, but the light lager crispness seems to help mitigate that. Light body. Would definitely drink/buy this again if I was in the mood.

A: The pour is a clear golden straw color with a white head that has almost zero retention. S: Sweet corn and apple juice is what the nose is all about. A slight grassiness with a touch of sweet grain. Luckily the can has protected this one from any skunking. T: Quite a bit of grain flavor along with the corn. There is a touch of rice and some of the apple juice sweetness that I get in many adjunct laden lagers. Almost no bitterness or hop character. M: Light in body with a moderate to high carbonation. O: As with so many of these beers, this really isn’t that bad, but it’s just not all that flavorful or interesting. It just doesn’t make me want to drink it again.

Had a sample at a big food and beer tasting in Cedar Falls, IA. All I wrote down was "Surprisingly similar to American light beers."

Pale yellow with a white head. Aromas of corn, grass and malts. watery palate, definite corn and malt flavors.

Reviewed from notes. Poured into a pint glass. Pours a very light yellow color with a lot of visible carbonation. Both the nose and the flavor are seemingly one in the same. Luckily this strays away from a lot of the skunky flavors that plague this style, especially when placed into a clear glass bottle. There is just a touch of light grain husks and not much else. Decent enough brew and definitely better than others from this brewery. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 11-14-2010

Bottle. Pours golden with little head. Taste is fairly typical; lightly sweet malt with very little hops. Negra Modelo is much better.
