2.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Misformore (34) - Colorado, USA - OCT 19, 2005
Pretty good for a mexican beer. I’d have it again instead of a Corona. Try it you might like it, but don’t forget the lime.

Better than than their stable mate Corona (LIME?!) but nowhere near Negra Modelo. This is what the big 3 in the US could be if they tried even a little bit. Average flavor and balance. Nothing memorable.

Not bad for a Mexican beer, but like all other Mexican beers I’ve tried, you practically have to stick a whole lime in it to make it interesting (breaking a man law of fruiting the beer, I know, but what can ya do?). Went great with the enchiladas, rice, and beans! Overall, good, but nothing to write home about.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Bart (2332) - Brussels, BELGIUM - AUG 20, 2011
Clear golden blond coloured beer with some very light carbonation and a small white head. Soft malty and grainy hinted aroma. Medium palate. Finish is light sweet and grainy hinted. Meduim.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 scanman (147) - Santa Cruz, California, USA - MAY 7, 2007
This is a pretty solid value beer. I don’t know where people get off complaining. For the price, it is comparable (if not better) than other Mexi-lagers. Far less sweet than the malty Tecate. Recommended for the $4.99 sixer price or the $1.49/ 24 oz can. 100%.

12 oz bottle-Someone broke this out @ a cookout after the Corona ran out. I’d have to call it a step up from there although that isn’t saying much-at least you don’t need to ad a lime just to drink it. Grassy, grainy, corn aroma. Some malt flavor to it-smooth finish. Nothing special-just get it ice cold & just grab a bottle!
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 GG (1980) - NorCal, California, USA - MAY 30, 2008
I’ve had this one on tap, out of the bottle and out of a can (12 oz and a 24 oz can). This is what most of the local Mexican’s drink, so if/when I go over to their house for a get together this is usually whats served. This was the case this past weekend, so I figured what the hell. It’s free so why not rate. The beer is a very nice color of gold with a medium white head. Initial aroma was skunk and corn. After a few minutes, it was still skunk and corn. Flavor had some grainyness to it, some skunk (it was a clear glass bottle after all) with just a touch of sweetness to it. Decent enough Mexican swill, but nowhere near the best they have to offer.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 ChainGangGuy (3682) - Canton, Georgia, USA - JAN 4, 2009
12 oz. bottle for $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a clear, delightfully golden body with a foamy, white head.
Smell: Lightly skunked nose with notes of grain husks and cooked corn.
Taste: Husky grains and maize with a light cereal sweetness. Tiny, tiny bit of sourness. Light hop bitterness is sufficient enough to give this beer a dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied, but thankfully lacks the wateriness of its brethren. Medium-plus carbonation.
Drinkability: No outright hideous, but, if you find yourself in a Mexican restaurant and need a beer, I’d sooner reach for a Negra Modelo.
