translucent gold with no head, medium-light body with medium-high carbonation.

aroma: sweet biscuity malt.

taste: biscuity malt sweetness, and faint herbal hops.

well balanced, and much better than i expected. it’s not even skunky tasting, even with the clear bottle. it must have just been taken out of the case. not really any noteworthy adjunct or off flavors either. seems like an underrated victim of beer prejudice.

Clear deep gold with a large white long lasting head. Spotty lacing. Nice grainy grassy herbal aroma. Taste is well balanced with sweet malts dominating in the beginning then the grassy herbal hops show up with a light but distinct bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a smooth easy drinking quality. With the relatively low abv. of 4.4% this has so much more flavor than any light beer on the market.

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2007 Mexican beer, as all reviewers know, is a mostly a pale pilsener-lager hybrid. Most are awful and tasteless. This is next to Pacifico as far as drinkability and enjoyability. Premium and pleasant. Out of the bottle is radically different from the can. Stick to the can.

Nice Mexican beer. Squeez a little lime...There ya go! Great in the summertime by the pool or at the lake! My favorite Mexican beer next to Tocate.

Overall, my favorite mexican beer. Better with a lime, always smooth, DONT drink it from a can.

12oz bottle; date code: GE11B128 10:26; purchased on 2008.04.23; $1.50 @ SWAM One of the better light beers. Beats Corona and Pacifico in my book. Light and refreshing, with enough body and taste to stand out from the rest.

This is quite a decent macro lager and actually tastes more like a German pilsner than most such beers, particularly those from the US< Canada, or Mexico. It’s faintly darkish gold with a medium white head steadily shrinking to a foaym ring and a hint of very weak lace. The aroma is soft grain, with hints of lemon, pine, honey, and herbs, and the faintest hint of soap. It has a light German element to the otherwise pretty good macro New World lager quality. The taste, especially at first, is more noticeable German, with a clear German herbal/grass/pine hop dominance at first, with honey and a very faint hint of grain, a light bitterness just dominating the faint grain sweetness. This soon fades, though, and the overall character degrades slightly, becoming more muddled, bland, and with a faint minerally-soapy quality coming through, but still staying pretty good. It’s a lbit on the watery side, but not heavily so. Overall, it’s drinkable, with a stronger character & flavour, and certainly more hop presence and flavour than most US/Mexican/Canadian macro lagers and is quite good. It also has no real off-flavours aside from the very faint, brief soapiness mentioned.
