3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On draft at Tap 25. It pours a dark brown color with a creamy tan head. The aroma is very intense with coffee, hints of vanilla, dark chocolate and chocolate syrup. The mouthfeel is silky and creamy with some flavors of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. High carbonation for the style. Medium to high roasted malt in the finish with some earthy bitterness. An awesome coffee stout. No green pepper.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can at home from the good hop Oakland. Opaque chestnut brown coloured pour with a lasting light tan head. Aroma is nutty roast, light toasted coconut, earthy bark. Flavour is composed of earthy nutty malts, milky chocolate, light gigs, dried fruit, very little fermentation character. Palate us medium light bodied, highish carbonation. Semi sweet with some mineral, chalky. Lingering nutty malts. OK, but no depth.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pitch black and nearly opaque with deep mahogany edges and a two finger pillowy beige head that very slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Great retention with streaks of soapy lacing coating the glass on the way down.
Robust dark malt aroma with a nice mix of deep roast and silky dessert-like sweeter malts. Gourmet coffee bean with toffee, oatmeal and toast followed by sweet chocolate, lactose, chocolate cake, caramel, toffee and fudge. Smells pretty good.
Medium body and a touch sweeter than expected. Decent gourmet roast flavor but not as coffee dominant as I was expecting. Toast, roasted nut and espresso bean followed by silky chocolate sweetness, caramel and faint lactose. Nice balance and easy to drink with a well masked ABV.

473ml Can from Brewdog online shop (£4):
Fairly disappointing in truth, I’m not sure what I had been expecting but I definitely wanted more from this. The taste & nose were both quite basic & not unlike a lot of other English style stouts that I’ve tried over the years although it was a nice enough taste without ever exciting.; I doubt this will be one I go for again.
