3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours deep brown, not quite black, with beige small head. Aroma is vinous, coffee, roasty. Thick and syrupy mouthfeel, but not clingy. Pretty delicate coffee flavors without much bitterness from the coffee, which is interesting.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour on tap at Woodman, dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of nice chocolate, roast, coffee into a bit of dark fruit, hints of nice lactose into a bit of espresso. Taste is a mix of earth, espresso, coffee into a bit of cocoa, chocolate, roast, slight dark fruit, finishing fairly bitter, slightly sweet.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can cheers to Adza and Jacko. Looks the goods. Nose is bang on. Taste is bloody great. Very coffee forward and dry. It is all about that mouth feel though. The flavour and feel coming out of this sub 6% stout is fantastic. Drinks sensationally. Almost milky but the bitterness cuts through it and you could easily session on this. Awesome beer

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Quand ce genre de stout est sur la cible, ça devient un incontournable... Et quand elle atteint un tel niveau l’onctuosité en service nitro, on ne peut que jubiler. Café, mocha et richesse maltée.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Arresting licorice aroma is enhanced by the coffee/sour taste. Another excellent beer from Modern Times - a new brewery that looks to be a winner.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can from Craft Beer Base Seed. Lightly scorched coffee aroma, with some good roast malt, and a touch a sweet chocolate. Dark translucent brown, little head, some lace. Coffee again in the initial (again, steeped or boiled? a little too long), sweet malt, roast, a light bitterness in mid and final. Medium-thin body. A bit thin, overall. Okay.

The liquid pours a dark ruby-brown and drives forth an aroma of roasted almonds and coffee beans. The top is covered in a wet, soft khaki colored foam, the head disappearing to a thin coating over the top. The palate is creamy, lightly oily, and a nice, long mild experience. The
If Modern Times is roasting coffee this good for their beer, I could take a few pounds of beans home with me right now. The flavor is outrageously good, the mild bitterness of a fine dark roast coffee, the creaminess of a damnably well made oatmeal stout and the carbonation just right for my constant appreciation. This has gone from fridge cold to room temperature in the time it’s taken me to drink it, but nothing about this has gotten wrong, uncomfortable or less enjoyable. I enjoyed a fat sirloin burger with the first, cold half of the can, and it would go as well now with a hot, melting chocolate chip cookie.
If there is a word for Modern Times at this point in my experience with them, consistency would be it. I really liked this brew and hope to find more in my area soon!
