The flavours - coffee, roasty, cocoa, tinge of bitter, thimble-full of sour and the slightest invocation of numbing juniper berry - are all very nice, slightly restrained.... a polite bunch of fellows. This beer is all about the body, or ’flavour delivery system’, as it were. It is milky, creamy and mucous-like. It is aloe vera gel mixed into a glass of a coconut cream (sans coconut flavour) and it anoints thine palate with said polite flavours rather than bash them mercilessly in. It is a restorative for your vocal chords, and possibly even waterproofs your sandals.

Can shared by Kyle, thanks! Pours near black with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of coffee with some sweet dark grains and a bit of roasted malts. Flavor combines sweet dark grains and coffee with a touch of roasted malts.

Can sample at a tasting at our place. Thanks zvikar. Very dark brown with a tan wave. Lots of coffee, vanilla, green beans and woodsy aroma, coffee bitter and roastiness in the mouth. Delicate fizz, quite light body which makes it an easy drink, and a coffee finish.

Inky black stout is a thing I adore, I really do. This seems a good example being almost opaque and with a coarse coating of mocha coloured head. There is a scent of dusty ground coffee and bitter cocoa. However, it seems a little restrained and it seems this was as well in the flavour. It isn’t a shouty devil screeching about how much of Ethiopia it has ground into it. It is mellow and elegant, silky and with gentle sweetness. It is beautifully balanced and even offers some rosehip and orange rind on the finish. It’s a lush experience and one worth repeating.

At a tasting, medium stable creamy bubbly head, dark brown color, with some reddish hues, aroma of coffee, grain, hay and some mocha, flavor of light roasted coffee beans with some greenish hints, light to medium mellow bitterness, long bitter coffee aftertaste with something green. Quite enjoyable.

Can. Deep black, not terribly thick. A full, dense head the color of dry beach sand falls away after a time. Big coffee aroma blends with milk chocolate, toast and a hint of sourdough. Sweet, rich mocha, with a touch of earthy hops in the back. The flavor leads with oily coffee beans, which give way to toasted sourdough. Mid-palate comes the milk chocolate, followed by an acrid roast finish. Medium-bodied and soft like a down comforter. Mild massaging bubbles. No noticeable alcohol; fairly clean and balanced finish. Like a chocolate covered espresso bean without the bitter bite. Perfectly balanced and smooth as a latte.

On tap at the Modern Times Tap Room in North Park. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Strong coffee aroma with a little chocolate in it as well. Taste is rich, slightly sweet and the coffee really stands out. Fuller body, creamy mouth feel, and softer carbonation. Overall an awesome coffee stout.

Front is bready and slightly roasty oatmeal cereal malts with cocoa powder. Finishes bitter dark chocolate with coffee. Medium to heavy lightly carbonated mouthfeel.
