COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black House is an oatmeal coffee stout bursting with coffee aroma and flavor. Modern Times is one of the only breweries in the world to roast our own coffee, which allows us to be exceptionally picky about which coffees we use and how we roast them. The result is an abundantly flavorful beer that’s incredibly complex and aromatic, with loads of roast character and a chocolate-covered espresso bean finish. But Black House packs all that flavor into a reasonable package: at only 5.8% ABV, it can comfortably be consumed by the pint.

500ml can at Lingua World Cafe. Pours near black, with a low fizzy tan head. Decent amount of roasted coffee bean on the nose, dark malts. Great flavour - like a bitter drip coffee in the morning, a nuttiness more noticeable as it goes on, dark chocolate rounding it out. It has a fizzy raspy feel, medium body. The oats slightly smooth things out, but I wish they did just a tad more. Overall a rich enjoyable stout.

Black color with foam ring. Coffee nose. Mild taste with hints of particles of filter coffee. Strong coffee flavor, but not very good coffee. Calm aftertaste.

Pours a dark black/brown with a small off white head. Lovely aroma filled with coffee, roasted malts and hints of chocolate. Flavour is just as good with much of the same. An excellent beer.

Can sharing @ Budapest. Very dark brown, mahogany highlights, creamy beige head (typical nitro). Low aroma of roast. Roasty profile, moderate coffee (not aggressive at all),

Bottle from VilleValla Pub. Dark body with medium carbonation. Smells of dark coffee and dark malts. Taste of Möre coffee and less Malts. Great beer for the alcohol content.

Can. Dark brown close to black with a medium sized diminishing light brown head. Earthy coffee, wood, dark chocolate and chalk in the nose. Flavour follows; lots of coffee, roasted malt, some caramel, chocolate, light honey. Medium body, oily texture, soft and slightly fizzy carbonation, medium sweet and bitter. Lingering coffee and roasted malt in the finish. Not bad, but not all that interesting either. Fizzy.
