Black House is an oatmeal coffee stout bursting with coffee aroma and flavor. Modern Times is one of the only breweries in the world to roast our own coffee, which allows us to be exceptionally picky about which coffees we use and how we roast them. The result is an abundantly flavorful beer that’s incredibly complex and aromatic, with loads of roast character and a chocolate-covered espresso bean finish. But Black House packs all that flavor into a reasonable package: at only 5.8% ABV, it can comfortably be consumed by the pint.

Can shared with Simz and Keith on masters sunday. Pours brownish black with small white head. Notes of lift coffee roast, malt, vanilla bean, and chocolate. Balanced well and easy going for a coffee beer. Liked the amount of hops too.

Very good beer, lots of roasted coffee aroma. It's brewed with there own coffee in house. Nice smooth finish. My favorite oatmeal coffee stout! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Super delicious stout. Pours a nearly opaque black with a thin beige head. The aroma is rich and appealing with heavy oatmeal and coffee notes, light milk chocolate and espresso beans. Rich and smooth with a nice even roasted malt that complements the coffee and malts. Smooth oatmeal malt with a creamy mouthfeel. Quite complex with a smooth yet robust profile that has mild bitterness. A great brew.

Looks rich dark chocolate with a pretty nice thick head. Smells of a bit of coffee and richer dry chocolate. Tastes like how a Guinness should to be honest. Richer and more pleasing too.

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is an intense coffee. I can smell it pouring it from the can to the glass. Flavor is again a nice coffee with some cocoa nibs and a nice overall roast. Probably not as intense as the Founders coffee beers but this is pretty damn good.
